Emily's P.O.V.

Asher and I stepped into the great castle through the old-fashioned heavy doors. We followed the older students instructions on how to get to the sorting hall and wandered around for about 5 minutes. When we finally arrived we looked around in complete awe. Everything looked polished and shiny with the lights of the chandeliers gleaming off the wooden surfaces. There also were the different houses banners hanging from the ceiling in a light swaying motion. We chatted with some other students for a bit until the headmaster caught our attention.

"Attention Attention" Professor Mcgonagall said in a calm tone. "We are pleased to have all our students here and are glad to begin the sorting process. Each one of you will be called up in alphabetical order and have the sorting hat placed on your head. It will decide your fate to which house you will be sorted into." I started jumping up and down with pure excitement as Asher chuckled softly behind me.

"Calm down Emily" She said with a smile. "You're gonna start drawing attention to us." I calmed down a bit until the names started to be called. I heard my name after 3 others had went up. I bounced up the steps with anxiousness. I almost tripped but caught myself with a nervous laugh and kept going until I reached the flat surface. I sat on the old stool as the professor placed the sorting hat atop my head. It said a weird rhyme before thinking for a moment and finally called out my rightful house.

"HUFFLEPUFF" It said with a frighting tone.

"YES!" I screamed with a slight happy dance before heading down the steps. On my way down I got a hug from Asher before I got seated. I gave her a thumbs up with a smile for good luck when she gets sorted. In the back of my mind I knew she wouldn't be a hufflepuff but we would still be best friends when we saw each other in class. I looked at Asher again with a smile before I started talking with my new house members.

Asher's P.O.V.

As more names got called the more anxious I got as I knew my name would be called soon. I waited patiently but finally heard my name get called after the longest time. I walked up the stairs causally and sat on the old stool. The hat got placed on my head and not even a second later the hat announced my house.

"SLYTHERIN" It pronounced as I smirked. I freaking knew it all along. I loved snakes all my life and I swear I heard one talking to me in the forest one time when I was little and down by the creek near my house. I thought I was imagining it but with this place you never know what could happen anymore. Maybe it wasn't just my imagination I thought. I walked down towards the table where all the beautiful slytherin girls dragged me over to sit by them. I knew I probably wasn't going to be friends with any of them as all they talked about were how hot the ravenclaw boys were. I wasn't genuinely interested in boys right now as I was more focused on my friendship with Emily and my school grades. I knew Emily wasn't quite the same way as I noticed her staring at this one boy reading a book at the back of the ravenclaw table. He had dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes with nerdy glasses covering them. He also had a defined jawline and high cheekbones. I glanced where she was looking and an idea popped into my mind. I was so going to get them together no matter how long it took. I just had to come up with a plan to get them to meet. I don't know how, when, or where but I was going to.
