Wylla sighed as she dropped the last box of her belongings on the floor. She turned to her mother and shrugged. Wylla's mom hugged her tightly as she began to cry. Wylla held her mother snugly, knowing it was hard for her mother to let her only baby move away from home.
"I'll be okay, Mum. I promise I will be okay." Wylla murmured to her mother.
She nodded and released Wylla, "So, what will you be doing tonight? Tomorrow? When do classes start?" Wylla couldn't help but laugh at her mother's obvious worry.
"Tonight, I will be unpacking and hanging out with my roommate. Tomorrow, I'll probably walk around campus, get to know the way around. Maybe try to meet some people. Hang out with my roommate. Classes start on Monday, Mum. You know that classes start on Monday."
"What's your first class?" Her mother inquired.
"Um, I have History two-oh- one at nine, classic literature at noon and then creative writing at two. A fun filled day." Wylla laughed knowing she would be out of her dorm all day and ready for sleep by the time she got back in the late afternoon.
"When will you eat, honey?" Wylla's mother was genuinely concerned.
"Between History and classic lit. I'll be fine, Mum. We talked about this NO MICRO MANAGING." Wylla laughed at her mother again.
"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I'm your mother and these are the things that I think about." She replied softly, kissing Wylla's cheek gently. "Call me if you need anything at all. If you hate it, I will pack you up and take you home. Okay?"
"Okay, Mummy." Wylla grinned and hugged her mother once more. When Wylla pulled back, she shook her head. Her mother had started to cry again. "I love you and I will call you as soon as something fabulous happens, okay?" Wylla's mother nodded and walked out of the dorm room.

Wylla puffed quietly and flopped onto her bed. She closed her eyes and tried to relax a little so she could start unpacking and organizing her space in the dorm. She hated feeling jittery while she was trying to decorate. Wylla stood from the bed after just another moment then grabbed her duffle off the floor. She would start with clothes. She had a nice, decent sized closet and she aimed to use it properly. As Wylla began placing her clothes on hangers, someone barged into the dorm room. Wylla's head popped up instantly. The red haired girl in the doorway blushed; her cheeks turning the same color as her hair.
"Sorry." The girl mumbled a bit.
Wylla laughed, "It's fine." She set her shirt and hanger down and walked over to the redhead. She held her hand out, "Hi. I'm Wylla." The redhead appeared shocked as she placed her hand in Wylla's. "You're Maddie, right?"
She nodded, "Yes."
"Cool." Wylla giggled quietly. "Here let me help you." Wylla reached for one of the bags that Maddie had dropped. Wylla carried the bag over to the other bed and threw it down on the mattress. "Would you rather have the right side of the room?" Wylla asked kindly. She had just picked the bed that she really wanted.
Maddie shook her head, "No. No left is fine." Maddie set the rest of her stuff down on the bed and then started to fidget a bit.
"Maddie, are you okay?" Wylla asked calmly. Maddie shook her head as she sank down onto the bed. "Can I help you?" Wylla was nervous for the girl who she was to be sharing a room with.
"I've never been this far from home before. I barely used to have sleepovers." Maddie told Wylla with tears in her eyes. Wylla sat down next to Maddie, placing her arm around the redheaded girl. "I miss me dad and me mum already." Maddie whimpered.
Wylla kissed the girl's temple gently, "It'll be okay. You've got me. I know I'm not you're parents but I'm probably going to end up loving you just as much." Maddie wiped her face of tears quickly. "Hey, it'll be alright. I swear soon this will really feel like home and you'll want to murder me like you do your mum." Maddie and Wylla both giggled. "Come on. Let's unpack then we'll go get some food and talk a small walk." Wylla suggested. Maddie agreed and stood up as Wylla did.

Wylla and Maddie walked around the very large campus. Maddie was rattling on about the class that she had signed up for while Wylla listened closely. They were taking very different classes and had very different interests they found out, Wylla didn't care though, she enjoyed Maddie's company. She was definitely a sheltered girl but she was so sweet and genuine. She had a particularly dark sense of humor and Wylla loved it. Maddie and Wylla were walking arm in arm when they heard someone calling to them.
"Maddie! Wylla! Wait up!" The person shouted. Maddie and Wylla stopped and turned around for a moment. "Goodness me, you two walk so fast." The girl, Tess, giggled, nearly out of breath. Maddie and Wylla both giggled as well. "Hey, there's a really cool restuaraunt, pub place just off campus. Wanna go?" Tess asked of Maddie and Wylla.
"Sure. Why not?" Wylla shrugged. "Maddie?" Wylla smiled.
"Um...yeah. Why not? Gotta eat right?" She replied. Tess grinned and hooked her arm with Wylla's. "There won't be any alcohol consumption will there?" Maddie asked before they started to walk again.
Wylla laughed, "You don't have to drink if you don't want to Maddie." Maddie nodded quickly. Wylla had found out that drinking made Maddie uneasy. She didn't want to risk one of the bad uni experiences.

Wylla led Maddie and Tess into the pub. All three of them were giggling and struggling to breathe from the dark joke that Maddie had told. Tess was shocked at the words that had come out of Maddie's mouth. Wylla thought she was ridiculously hilarious.
"Seriously, do you have any others?" Wylla asked Maddie, hoping for another good joke.
"Yes." Maddie beamed. "But I'm not telling. I have a whole year to tell you all of my awful jokes." She added, making Wylla pout.
"Hey girls!" The hostess grinned, seeing their laughing faces. "Booth for you guys?" She asked politely. Maddie and Tess nodded quickly. As they made their way to the booth, Wylla bumped into someone standing at the bar.
"Oh goodness me, I'm sorry." Wylla apologized, trying to steady the man she'd knocked a bit.
He turned and smiled at her, "It's alright." Wylla just smiled shyly as her cheeks turned pink. He was a beautiful man. His blonde hair made him look incredibly sweet but his blue eyes held a fire that made Wylla melt a bit. His smile was bright and it made her weak in the knees.
"Sorry." Wylla nearly mumbled again before bolting off to Tess and Maddie.
"What happened, Wylla?" Tess inquired. Wylla shook her head quickly as she sat down. "Come on." Tess laughed a bit.
"Nothing. I just bumped into someone and I apologized." Wylla smiled politely. Tess and Maddie both leaned in a little, curious as to why Wylla had changed in her demeanor. "He just happened to be really attractive." Wylla mumbled, picking up her menu. Maddie and Tess gasped and started looking around the pub. "Oh stop it you two." Wylla chuckled and swatted at her friends playfully.

Wylla tried to listen to Maddie and Tess as she sipped her beer but she was struggling to concentrate. Her eyes kept getting pulled back to the man she bumped into at the bar. He was a sight. He wasn't too tall but tall enough that Wylla could tuck her head underneath his chin if she hugged him. His hair was messy but it looked absolutely perfect on him. His skinny jeans were kind of tight in the ass and she loved it. She watched him lean against the bar like he was a God. His smile made her feel like he was a much different person than he let on. His button down shirt was slightly unbuttoned and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, a look that was really good for him. She couldn't take her eyes off him.
"Why don't you send him a drink? A little apology for almost knocking him on his ass." Tess murmured with a teasing smile as she leaned across the table. Wylla furrowed her brows in faked confusion.
"Oooor..." Maddie began. Wylla and Tess looked at her curiously. "You could just go over there and talk to him. Be polite say hi." Maddie stated. Wylla and Tess smiled at how old fashioned Maddie was being. "Then, when he asks you about yourself, tell him you can suck a golf ball through fifty meters of garden hose." Maddie giggled.
Wylla gasped, "Madeleine!" She tossed her napkin at Maddie's face playfully. Tess's jaw dropped as she laughed loudly and uncontrollably.
"That'll seal the deal for you." Maddie laughed manically.
"I can't believe that potty mouth of yours." Wylla stated, trying to control her loud, hysterical laughter.
