The Links Between Worlds

Prologue

  Long ago, in the land of Hyrule, a mighty war raged on. Many innocent people died in the cross fire of the battle. As many cried over their loved ones, one young mother ran for her and her newly born twin boys' lives. Ganondorf, the Long of Thieves, rode after that woman. As she ran across Hyrule Field, Ganondorf readied his bow and shot the young woman. Crimson blood trickled down her side as the young mother finally reach and entered the mysterious forest. Once inside the cover of the trees, the woman found a shady place to rest under a tall tree. Suddenly Ganondorf appeared before her and took one of the babies. Before he could snatch up the other, the young mother found enough strength to escape. As she ran, she stumbled and found a hidden village. It was the village of the Kokiri, or forest people. The young mother ran to them and pleaded them to take her child for she wouldn't last long. When the great Deku Tree allowed the Kokiri to take the child, when the mother slowly passed away knowing her baby was safe. The forest people raised the child and have him the name of Link. As Link grew into a handsome young man, Ganondorf raised the other in totally darkness. Because Ganondorf raised Link's twin in the murky shadows, he named him 'Dark' Link. When Link learned to fight, Ganondorf taught Dark to do the same. Ganondorf did this with the thought of when they would fight, they would be evenly matched. As the destiny would have it, the two finally met. That day a stormy battle took place. The swords clashed, the metallic slashes split the air as yellow hot sparks flew. Blistering rain slammed Hyrule as Dark and Link fought with all their might. With every powerful swing, the two men glared daggers at each other. As they fought, Ganondorf used the power of a mysterious gem he found in the desert. A blinding white light began to arise from the gem that would change lives forever.
