This is a report on my 51 year old step dad how was borne in 1962. Two years before the end of the silver dimes ,nickels and quarters. He was able to go to school and go duck hunting when he wanted. The hunter safety test was twenty questions long. he had a dad that went threw wwii and i don't think he made it. his step dad bud is stil alive but he has not Ben herd from any more. he is not part of the family any more.
The first Question i asked my step dad was what were the most famous brand of cars back then. He responded with the chevy camaro, the ford mustang and the pontiac transam. The second thing i asked him was what was the best burger joint. The only thing dan could remember was 'dj' drive in. For restaurants straw hat pizza and a little diner called jonys.
I asked him how much gas was when he was 16. He said that when he was 16 gas went from $0.69 to $0.99 it was outrageous back then. i asked what was the best radio show was back then. He said KRDG was the greatest and the only one he could remember.I knew he had a bb gun but i wanted to see what kind he had so i asked him if he had a red rider bb gun. He said he could not remember if it was or not.he said entertainment was a little black and white tv when he was little he had channel 7,9 and 12. when he was bigger he just played outside. When i asked if there was laws for seat belts, he said no he could ride on the back of trucks. cops thought they would not jump at high speeds. I asked if he had bell bottom jeans, he said yes.
i asked him if long hair was popular he said yes and was a teen when it was popular.
