Ugh. I can see the big buildings of red brick as the bus drives up towards the school. I go to West Port Preparatory. Probably the preppiest of it's kind. I hear the gravel crackle underneath the wheels of the bus.
"We're here." I mumble to myself under my breath with a couple of curse words added to that.
One step.
Two step.
Three step.
Great. I'm now officially at school for the day.
"LIV!!!!!!" I am greeted with a massive hug.
"Kenz!!" I reply back.
Meet Mackenzie. Best friend. Only friend. We met at the start of this year when I moved to West Port Prep. I was trying to figure my way to my first class when I accidentally bumped into her. She helped me, and we became best friends. We didn't have any friends before each other. Everyone else at West Port Prep is rude, self-centred, and mean.
"How was going back to Australia?" Kenz asked.
"Better than here!" I lied.
I used to live in Australia, that was until my twin sister committed suicide. My whole family wanted a new start. So we got on a plane and moved to England. Dad finally got a job, and so did mum. We weren't living paycheque to paycheque for the first time. It was amazing. After we mourned the death of my sister, my parents managed to pull a few strings and my siblings and I ended up going to West Port Prep. I still can't help myself wonder, what would've happened if my sister never died? But I guess I'll never know and that's something I'll have to remember. Australia brought back too many memories. I cried every night. I will just never forgive myself.
"I'm just happy I'm back at England with you!" I added.
"I'm happy you're back too! I missed you!!" Kenz replied.
Right then, the bell rung and it was time to go to class.
