I jolted out if bed in a cold sweat. I was breathing in short and fast gasps. I look down to see my hands clenched in my sheets. When I unclenched them, there was dirt under my fingernails.

'How did that get there?' I thought.

Then I remembered; the dream. But it couldn't have been real. Could it?

That night I had trouble getting back to sleep. I couldn't believe that I remembered the dream so clearly as if it was real, and wake up to have dirt underneath my fingernails. Oh yeah, I washed those in case you were wondering.

I wanted to tell my mom, but I knew that she wouldn't believe me.

"Annabelle!" my mother called from downstairs. "It's almost time for school!"

"Coming mom!" I yelled back.

I quickly changed into a light pink t-shirt and my favourite pair if jeans. I rushed downstairs and headed out the door, grabbing my sweater and putting on my running shoes in the process.

"Bye mom!" I yelled from the porch. "I'll be staying at school with Alex and Cameron to study!"

"Okay!" she yelled back. "But be sure to be back by dinner!"

"Okay!"

My older brother, Jason, was already waiting at the bus stop for me.

"What always takes you so long?" he asked. "I take like five minutes, and you take like an hour."

"Wow, and you made it all the way to grade eleven." I said. "I'm a girl, you're a guy. It always takes longer for a girl to get ready then it does a guy. Even you should know that."

"Well it's not like you have a guy to impress or anything." He teased. "Oh yeah, Alex."

I punched his arm and he smirked.

"Alex is not my boyfriend," I said. "He's like my brother. You should know that, you're my actual brother."

The bus pulled up before he could say anything else. We climbed on, and he went to the back to sit with his stupid friends. While I sat in my usual spot with Cameron. As usual, she looked as beautiful as ever.

"So," She said. "Are we still on for after school?"

"Only if you and Alex are still allowed." I said. "It wouldn't be much of a study group if there was only one person."

"I'm still allowed, but I don't know about Alex," she said. "We'll have to ask him at school."

"Ohh, you're talking about Alex." Said Kyle from the seat behind us.

"Yeah," said Cameron. "But it's none of your business.

He ignored her and turned back to me. "You do know he likes you. Don't you?"

"Oh shut up Kyle." I said.

"Ih so you don't know do you?" He said to me, then turned to the rest of the bus. "Hey everybody! Annabelle doesn't know that Alex likes her!"

Even though my head was down, I could still see everybody's faces, laughing with wide grins. As we pulled up to the school, everybody was still laughing.

"Told ya." said Jason as he was walking by.

"Actually," I said getting into the aisle behind him. "You didn't tell me anything."

"Well I'm pretty sure I recall calling him your boyfriend numerous times." He said.

"Shut up!" I said.

He walked away to catch up with his friends. Me and Cameron walked over to where Alex was sitting on the bench waiting for us.

"Why is everyone laughing?" he asked when we got over to him.

"No reason." Me and Cameron said in unison.

And we all headed inside.
