Sweetness

I walked you home last night,

We had gone out for pizza and it was great.

I've never seen you smile that big before,

And it made me so happy to see you smiling like that.

I always want you to be happy.

At your door, we stood and talked for what felt like hours,

And your laugh was so adorable.

I kept feeling myself staring at you,

The light in your eyes,

The edges of your pink lips curled up in a smile,

Your brown hair hanging adown around the sides of your face.

God, you're gorgeous.

And then you said something that came as a shock to me,

"So when are you gonna kiss me?"

My eyes widened at your words.

"It's okay if you do,"

You said, closing the space between us.

I was too afraid to move.

And suddenly you crashed your lips into mine,

And god, I've never felt anything like it.

Your soft lips were on mine, and we were kissing,

Our lips moving in sync as cars rolled by in the streets behind us.

None of that mattered though,

All that mattered was you and me, and this moment we were sharing.

You pulled away with a playful smirk on your face,

"See you around."

God you had me hooked.
