He left me.
Ari came in again, tears streaming down her face, her mascara smudged. "It's okay..." I murmured, pulling her into a hug. Her body shook with sobs as she clung to me, her usual fiery energy extinguished.
"No, it's not!" she cried, her voice thick with emotion. "You told me he was no good, and I ignored you..."
"I always do, and you ignore me," I thought, gently rubbing her back. Why did she always fall for the wrong guys? It broke my heart to see her like this, her vibrant spirit dimmed by another heartbreak.
Like always, I wanted to kiss her, to hold her close and comfort her in a way that would make her forget every other guy who had ever hurt her. But Ari was straight, wasn't she? Or at least, that's what she had always told me.
"Suki..." she whispered, her voice choked with sobs.
"Hm? Tell me," I said softly, encouraging her to open up.
"Do it to me," she pleaded, her eyes searching mine with a desperate intensity.
I opened my eyes wide. "Do what to me?"
"I always knew you liked girls," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "So please, do it to me... touch me, make me feel good, and help me forget about him..."
I gently cupped her chin and looked into her eyes, searching for any hint of hesitation or doubt. "Do you really mean that, Ari?"
"Yes, I do," she replied, her voice firm despite the tears welling up in her eyes.
She looked at me with such vulnerability and pain that I felt a wave of protectiveness wash over me. All those years of suppressed feelings, of stolen glances and hidden desires, suddenly surged to the surface.
"I will, then," I said softly, my voice filled with tenderness.
I gently took her hand and stood up. "Let's go."
I led her to my room, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows across the walls. At the door, I hesitated for a moment, my heart pounding in my chest. Then, I slowly leaned in and kissed her. "I'll be gentle," I whispered against her lips.
"No..." she murmured, her breath hitching. "Be a little rough."
I looked into her eyes, a spark of something wild igniting within me, and kissed her deeply. We reached the bed, and as we lay down, continuing to kiss, she moaned softly.
"You're so beautiful," I whispered, my fingers tracing the curve of her cheek, her soft skin warm beneath my touch.
"My body isn't that beautiful," she whispered back, her voice laced with insecurity.
"You are beautiful," I reassured her, my voice soft. I gently pulled her shirt up and undid her bra, revealing her full breasts.
I gently nibbled her nipple and licked it while rubbing the other one. She moaned softly, her body arching into mine.
I slowly caressed her stomach, my fingers tracing patterns on her smooth skin, and trailed my fingers down to her thighs.
"Ah..." she breathed, her eyes fluttering closed.
I gently unbuttoned her pants and slid them down, along with her underwear. Between moans and whispered pleas of 'no' and 'stop,' we lost ourselves in a night of passion.
The boundaries between comfort and pain, between friendship and something more, blurred as we explored each other's bodies with a desperate hunger. At some point, she spoke, her voice more serious now. "Mmm... Suki... I have... to... tell you... something..."
I stopped. "Hm? What is it?" I asked, my voice husky."I... I have always loved you," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
She blushed and covered her face with her hands. "Eh? Since when?" I asked, surprised.
"Since we were in 10th grade..." she replied, her voice muffled by her hands.
"The first time we met, then?"
"Yeah," she said, stuttering slightly. "You idiot... I have always loved you too."
"Ah! ... I thought you didn't, since you had so many boyfriends..." I trailed off.
I sighed and smiled. "Either way, I have only loved you, but since you've been hopping from boy to boy, I guessed there was no chance for me."
"Seriously?" she asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yes."
She smiled and hugged me tightly. "I love you a lot more than I have loved anyone," she whispered into my ear.
"Me too."
"Eh? What's that? I want to hear you say it properly," she teased, her voice playful.
"I-I love you too."
"It's so nice hearing you say it," she replied, her voice filled with happiness.
I shed my clothes, and in our naked embrace, we felt the warmth and love that we had always longed for.
We lay there, tangled in each other's arms, the weight of our unspoken feelings finally lifted. The room was filled with a comfortable silence, punctuated only by the soft rhythm of our breathing and the steady beating of our hearts. In that moment, I knew that we had found something real, something lasting. And it was more beautiful than anything I could have ever imagined.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Ari was still asleep, her head nestled against my chest. I gently stroked her hair, marveling at the peaceful expression on her face. I had never felt so happy, so content.
As Ari stirred and slowly opened her eyes, a shy smile spread across her face. "Good morning," she whispered, her voice husky with sleep.
"Good morning," I replied, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
We lay there for a while, just enjoying each other's company, before finally getting out of bed. As we got dressed, Ari turned to me, her eyes filled with a mix of apprehension and hope.
"So... what happens now?" she asked.
I took her hand, intertwining our fingers. "Now," I said, "we figure this out. Together."
