It had been a few months after that dreadful day. The beasts still roamed, watching with eyes of desire. Every once in a while I'd look through the window to see a pair, a gleam in the shadow, a peak of yellow and bloodshot with restless intent through the shade. If I looked away for a second; Gone.

"Delaaaanneeey!" I heard a high pitched voice call from the down the hall. Sprinting in nothing but her stockings, a little crimson haired girl ran right in my direction. Slipping on the tile, she landed on her bum, right into my feet, knocking me over.

  *Oof!*

"Auug... Cera! Mm.. Hunny Bunny... Haven't I told you not to run? Especially on the tile." I looked down at the sniffling girl, her ears droopy. I patted her on the head and pulled her into a cradle on the living room floor.

"I-I'm sorry.. I just needed.. *Sniffle* Help.." She sniffled a little more and rubbed at her nose as tiny tears formed. She looked up at me. "I.. Can't put on my dress right.." She fidgeted with her stockings as she looked down in shame.

I thought for a moment and brushed off my skirt, picking her up. Then sighed. "Okay biddy bunny. I'll help you dress, but no more running." I wagged my finger at her in a silly matter.

"Delaneeey." She huffed as she pouted. "I'm not a baby, stop treating me like onee!"

"Your right, you're 10. Which is still young missy." I smirked and rubbed her head a little only to have her push it away.

"So are you, we're twins." She stuck her tongue out as I giggled.

"Yes, but I was born first, technically."

  "Only by two minutes!"

"Two hours~" I replied back in a singsong tone and scooped her up into my arms, hugging her closely. "But the technical details don't matter you're still just as smart, and I'm so lucky to have a silly red haired funny bunny for a sister." She laughed as I kissed her cheek and set her down. "Let's go get dressed" I took a few steps as she followed behind and reached for my hand. Walking beside me, we moved towards the bedroom.

"You're a silly hare Cera." I held her soft hand.

"And you're pretty, like Daddy." I took a deep breath and bit the inside of my bottom lip, clenching my teeth. I was holding back the tears; Cera didn't think much of Mom and Dad. She thought they were on a trip.

I told her they were traveling, selling goodies and looking for a home closer to the village; How they had to make a little more to find a pretty house, and how they'd be back to get us when they found the perfect place; Out of the woods and into the village. I couldn't tell her. I couldn't tell her why I still cry at night. I had to look strong, and I couldn't bear to see her heart break. I knelt down as I wiped away a few tears that had slipped and pushed back my sister's bangs.

"And you have Mommy's bright eyes." I sighed at smiled at her in a gentle fashion. She just stared at me curiously, then laughed as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Grabbing my hand again, we walked through the door.
