tyler joseph grew up with a catholic family that owned a church on a hill. the josephs lived in a tiny house and often woke up at the peak of dawn for morning devotion. they expect tyler to become this "perfect christian boy" and tyler is on the path to that. he would pray every night and help out at the church on weekends. he was a straight A student and never swore in his life. he likes writing poems and creative writing and sometimes plays around with his ukulele uttering christian hymns to himself. he also just started playing the bass guitar. he has a very pure soul. or is that how they're parents see him?

joshua dun goes by josh. he stands by authority and makes his own decisions. he grew up in a tiny apartment in the bronx with a a single mother. she does everything she can to raise her son the best way she can. she works night shifts to pay rent and take care of josh. josh gets average grades and enjoys playing the drums. he dyes his hair very often making him seem rebellious and a bad influence. he's christian maybe. him and his mother go to church on occasions and pray when it all goes down.
