MAYLA HEART
The darkness shrouds the world around me. I'm running around but I'm losing myself even more. I shrink down to a ball and put my hands over my ears. The voices won't stop. Everything started to fade.*Capsize plays on her phone for an alarm*
I roll over and fall out of bed. The voices disappeared. Walking to my phone I trip over a textbook. I pick it up and turn off the alarm. I've never felt more exhausted in my life. The dreams are coming back and are worse then normal. I look in the mirror at my swollen eyes with huge bags underneath. I give up on my face and change into a pair of black jeans and grey hoddie and walk out the door. Walking to school helps clear my head but I was horrified by the blackness and what it meant.
I'm so focused on the voices I heard that I don't realize I bumped into someone until I'm on the ground. A tall boy with dark hair stares down at me worry written all over his face. He leans down hand extended. "I'm so sorry. I should've been more careful where I was going." He says in a hurried mumble. I stare at him for awhile. Noticing I'm not taking his hand he pulls it back and stands up straight. "My names Levi. You do speak don't you?" "I prefer to not be on the ground. And yes I do speak." The words bite out at him before I think about what I was saying. "Mayla." I whisper as I look at my shoes embarrassed. A smirk arrives on his face and his eyes twinkle with a satisfaction. The shy boy is gone and in his place stands an annoying looking guy who has a massive ego.
"You look like death." Levi snorts out taking me in with one glance. "Why?" I asked cautiously. Was he one of them? Did he know of my dreams? "Why what?" He questioned looking amused. "Why are u still talking to me? I'm the creep no one talks to." "Maybe that's why I asked. Maybe I want to get to know the girl behind the mirror so to speak." The loud personality slowly shirted to the heartwarming boy who wanted to help me up. "I don't sleep well. My mind has the scary capability of being dark and demented." I say quietly unsure of him. "You're afraid of your dreams?" He looked genuinely concerned. "Yes." Barely getting the word out I looked up at him afraid he would find me a creep. "Can I tell you something?" He whispered into my ear. I could feel his breath on my neck as he waited for a response. He didn't move. And I'm not sure I minded. "Sure." I whispered waiting for him to pull back and mock me. Instead he turned and looked me straight in the eye. Our faces were so close all I had to do was move a little closer and our lips would be touching.
No. No. No. no getting connected I did not just think that. "I love when your in your own head. But care to bring the conversation out in the open so I can join." He stated with a smirk as he pulled away. And to think I actually thought he had feelings. "Goodbye Levi." I said as I rolled my eyes at my self and walked away.
