This is for ThearBear because she wanted a happy one-shot.
"I can't do it, Alex," Scott says, looking over to him with a frantic look on his face. "I can't! I'm going I stutter, and fall, and make a fool of myself! What if he says no? I'll be ruined-"
"Scott!" Alex yells. He takes the little box off of the counter, opening it and admiring the small diamond ring on the inside. "There is no way he could say no to this. He loves you, more than ever. I know we aren't together anymore, but I can say if you gave this to me with the speech you prepared, I'd be bawling and saying yes until I died." Scott smiles shyly. "Take a risk, Scott. Give this boy the love he deserves." Scott gives Alex a hug.
"Thanks, Allie. Things didn't work out for us, but I hope you work something out with someone in the future," Scott says with a smile. Alex smiles too.
"Now look," Alex starts, making himself comfortable on the couch. He pulls the ring out, holding it on the air to get a better look at the diamonds. "Imagine yourself in five years, cuddling with him in bed, holding his hand and looking at this ring. You won't regret it." He says with a smile.
Alex hops up and puts the ring on the table, allowing himself to eat Scotts food with a smile.

"It's go time," Alex says and pats Scott's back reassuringly. Scott takes a deep breathe while watching his boyfriend, hopefully fiancé soon.
"Are you sure? Can it be go time, like, tomorrow? Maybe a week from now?" Scott asks nervously. Alex chuckles.
"No! He is in the perfect position. Here," Alex says, taking out a hat that had a mistletoe dangling from it.
The scene was gorgeous. It being Christmas time allowed Scott to believe that this would be a Christmas miracle and it would go wonderfully. Last Christmas, Scott had given Mitch a promise ring, this time, he hoped to give him an engagement ring. Scott slowly walks up to Mitch, who was petting someone's dog while the owners kid played in the park. Scott admired to Christmas decorations and tree that was covering the park. When Mitch saw Scott, he excused himself from the dog.
"Hey, hot stuff," Mitch says, coming to Scott and hugging him with a giant smile. Scott found Mitch's Christmas sweater and Santa hat extremely cute. Scott awkwardly points to the mistletoe hat he had on. Mitch winks, bring himself on his tip toes and places a gentle peck on Scotts lips. "How sweet," Mitch says when the pull away. Scott grabs Mitch's hand, the one with the promise ring.
"It was almost a year ago that I gave you this," he says. "To prove my love to you," Mitch smiles and nods. "I think it's time for an upgrade." Mitch looked confused, but soon his vision became blurry with tears when he saw Scott drop to one knee and pull out a small, closed box. "I love you with everything in me," Scott starts, slowly opening the box. "When I met you, I-" Scott stops himself when the box is fully open, looking at the now empty box that had no ring in it. He was speechless, as he remembers now he forgot to put the ring back in after Alex took it out. "I-uh."
"Scott..." Mitch whispers. Scott blinked a few times before standing, completely in shock. He felt himself tear up.
"I knew this was a mistake, I knew this would go wrong," he whispers. "I'm-I'm sorry, Mitch," he says, dropping the empty box and running off in embarrassment, leaving Mitch alone and crying.

Mitch arrived to Scotts apartment with the spare key Scott had given him. He was nervous, but completely determined to figure out what the hell had happened. He enters, following the sweet sound of the guitar coming from Scotts room. He opens it, watching as Scott stopped the music when his eyes landed on Mitch. He looks down in embarrassment.
"So, I don't know if you were trying to propose to me or break up with me," Mitch says, trying to lighten the mood. "I was kind of hoping it wasn't the second one." Mitch makes his way over to Scotts bed and sits by the taller boy.
"I wasn't breaking up with you," he says.
"What happened back there, love?" Mitch wasn't upset with Scott, just confused and a little embarrassed.
"I wanted to marry you," he says quietly. "But, the ring was gone. I had the box, but I left the ring in the apartment," he says, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small ring with a little diamond. It was stunning. "Alex and I were looking at it, because I was doubting myself. But who wouldn't, right? Everyone is nervous before they propose to someone. But he helped me and talked me into not talking myself out of it. So when I opened the box and saw nothing, I took it as a sign that it wasn't meant to be." Mitch didn't know what to say, so he simply leans over and kisses Scott gently.
"I don't need a ring, love," Mitch says softly. "I wouldn't of cared if you lost it, or forgot it. I would've said yes no matter what, and do you want to know why?" Mitch asks. "Because I love you. I don't need money, or a big, expensive ring. I only need you." Scott smiles at him. "And I would've said yes a million times over and over again, and I still will if you want to try again," he says with a shy smile. He wipes one of Scotts tears away and kisses him again. Scott looks down at the ring before grabbing one of Mitch's hands.
"Will you marry me, and love me until the end of time?" Scott asks him softly. "And start a family with me, too. I would like that," Mitch laughs softly and wipes his own tear away.
"Yes, a million times, yes," Mitch says softly. "Now give me that damn ring!" He says. Scott laughs and puts the ring on his boyfriend, now fiancées, ring finger.
"Thought you didn't need the ring?" Scott reminds him sarcastically.
"Well, that was when you didn't have it, remember? If it's here, than I guess I'll take," Mitch jokes, kissing Scott and cherishing the memory, of the imperfect wedding proposal that was oh-so perfect in their eyes.
