Hi! So, this is my first story on my fav tv serie, Lie to me. Before to start I wanna say that in this continuing of the LTM seasons there will be another character invented by me. All I can say is that you'll find out thanks to her/him something more about the past of one of the personages. The chapters may be a little long. I repeat, everything I write is made-up by me. Hope you'll enjoy. :)

"Gillian, do you love her?" asked Emily.
"Of course I do darling, of course I do." Answered Cal back.
"No, I mean...really love her?"
He took a minute looking at her daughter. She was so smart, she always knew the answer.
"Yes." He eventually said. Cal could see happiness in her daughter's face. Emily placed her head on her dad's chest and he put his arm around her shoulders.
"And what are you waiting for?" She spoke.
"I don't know darling, I don't know. Maybe it isn't this easy, maybe I'm scared.." This was probably the first time Cal Lightman was scared to talk to a woman, but Gillian Foster was just his weakness. He really cared about her, wanted only the best for her and absolutely didn't want to lose her...something that he thought could happen if he would tell her his feelings.
"It is easy! I know she's in love with you too." It kinda seemed like Emily wanted more than Cal to see him and Gillian together.
"How do you know it?"
"I just saw it on her face." She said referring to her dad's job. He smiled. He was in love with Gillian since the first time they met, he was the one that was jealous anytime she was with any other men, he just wanted her to be his too bad, but he also wanted her happy and being with someone who truly deserved her. He was absolutely not enough for Gillian Foster, he would hurt her for sure and she didn't merit it.
This is the thought that always stopped Cal Lightman from his work partner.

-the next day-
"Hey, love." said Lightman entering in Gillian's office.
"Hey" she replied looking up from the papers that she was writing. Cal could see she was still hurt by what happened the day before with Claire, but he asked it her her anyway. "How are you today, Gill?"
"Better I guess. I'm trying to forget it.."
"Would you like to take a coffee? You know, no matter what's the problem, coffee will always make it better."
She smiled and nodded.
~at the break area~
"Cal" stared Gillian "I really wanna thank you."
"For what?"
"For being always with me. You've been the first one I called when I saw Claire died and you have been the first to come, even first the police. The fact is that you can't trust so many people in this world, but you...you're my best friend. I wouldn't have got trough it without your support. You listened to me talking about her even if maybe you had to do more important things. You have been the only one who hold me when I cried. So thank you, Cal. You saved me so many times and I appreciate it."
He could see and feel the truthfulness in her words. He stared at her for some seconds smiling. She was just so pure, an angel and he didn't know what he did because the world put her in his way, in Cal Lightman's way.
"The fact, love, is that you are so strong, maybe you just don't see it. And no Gill, you are the one who always saved me. Without you I probably would have been already in prison."
She let out a little laugh and looked up his eyes.
She came close to him and they hugged. Their hugs. The hugs full of emotions.

Suddenly came Loker and they broke their hug.
"Lightman, Foster we need you in the hall, the young intern is here."
"An intern?" Asked Cal confused.
"Oh yeah. Today would have come a young intern girl. She is at the first year of university studying body language and micro expressions, but her teacher says that she is really a talent, worth of working here. By the tone at the phone he seemed so secure and incredulous of what she can do, so I thought it would have been nice to see if she is really so good. Sorry, I forgot to tell you." Said Gillian and Cal gave her his 'don't worry' look.
All three went in the hall and there was standing a very young girl. She seemed something like 17 or 18. She had long brown hair and eyes of the same color.
"Good Morning, you must be Dr. Lightman and you Dr. Foster. It's a pleasure to meet you, thank you so much for letting me in." The girl said with an huge smile, everybody could see her excitement for having this opportunity.
"Nice to meet you too...what's your name?" asked Gillian.
"Katheryn, Katheryn Cooper. But call me Katy."
'Katheryn Cooper'...this name brought to Gillian back a memory from so long ago. Her biggest secret, something that not even Cal knew. She just ignored it, thinking that it was for sure just a coincidence.
"Well, Katy, good to see you then. So, your teachers says that you're amazing and deserve to be a part of us." said Lightman.
"Yep, it's me."
"You seem so secure of your capacities."
"Does it bother you, Dr. Lightman?"
For a moment everybody was looking at the two. It was just some minutes that she was there but she already seem to keep up with Lightman. Gillian gave him a look like for saying 'be nice with her'.
"No, at all, but you need to show us your talent." Lightman hadn't nothing against this girl, she seemed a good one, but he just didn't think that the new generation would really take something serious like their work.
"Well, as you wish." Replied Katy. "So, you..." she said pointing at Ria "...are having fun listening me and Lightman conversation, you..." this time pointing at Eli "...are thinking of some strange sexual thoughts about me, you..." pointing at Gillian "...are suffering a lot for something....no, for someone. Someone that must be important. I'm so sorry for it. And you..." she finished with Cal "...are so impressed, but don't want to admit it. Should I continue?"
They all looked shocked and couldn't believe it. She was a truly talent. Only looking at someone she could say what's behind them. She seemed like Lightman's daughter or a female version of him.
"Follow me." said Cal and all the group and Katy did. "So, you'll help us with our new case.
This woman, Kelly Huston, she has been murdered last night. The police arrested her brother because everybody says that they had bad dealings, but also because he had some criminal records. The woman had a daughter and son, and was expecting the third. The police wants us to find out is they have captured the right man."
"I don't wanna imagine how the poor kids feel now...loosing their mother..." said Katy. Everybody could say that in her voice there was something true, there was real pain, like if she could feel for real the feelings of the babies.
"The worst pain." Replied Foster. Katy reminded Gillian too much to someone that she never forgot. But she couldn't, she really couldn't be her. She felt like she knew her in ages. The psychologist just bundled off her thoughts, thinking that so many people can remind you of someone else.
Katy could swear the same. She could feel like Gillian had been so important in her life, someone that has been near to her ages ago. She just laughed about it thinking of what a stupid thing it was.

"Let's go." said out of the blue Cal for breaking the silence that suddenly came.
"Where?" asked Katy.
"You're here for let us see if you're really worth of working here, right darling?" He said using already a nickname...as his usual.
The girl nodded. "Perfect, then let's go pay a visit to the brother of the victim."
Lightman, Foster and Cooper went to the jail where he was.
"He's all for you, darling." Said Cal to Katy and she entered in the room where he was. Her two bosses were looking from outside. There was the classic glass window so they could see and listen.
"Why do you look at me in this way?"
"You make me laugh Cal, you know her since not even an hour and you already call her 'darling' "
"Does it bother you, Foster?" He said referring to what previously said Katy to him. Of course they were just kidding. She laughed.

~in the room~
"So, they say you killed your sister, is it true?"
He looked up at the girl.
"How old are you?"
"Answer to the question."
"I thought that I would have talked with the doctor Lightman...a professional."
"I could be part of the Lightman group."
"Could?"
"Listen, or you'll answer to my question or you'll never talk to either of us...and you'll stay here in prison for 25 years. I can see that you are desperately trying to find help."
"For being seventeen she knows what she's doing." commented Cal from outside. Gillian nodded.
"I didn't kill my sister." The man finally said.
"But you feel guilty, why?"
He looked down and his eyes away.
"You remembered something...better, someone. Who is he or she?"
"He never cared about her. They used to fight a lot...even in front of the kids. Poor them. I never saw him, but I'm pretty sure he cheated on her. He forced her to have sex with him even if she didn't want to. He is a cruel man."
"Who is this he?"
"Her husband. You know, the thing that I'm really worried about, are the kids...now alone with him. Could you imagine seeing your parents fighting everyday? How orribile it could be?"
"Yes. Yes I do. I can understand you."
"She didn't lie.." said Gillian outside hearing the young girl latest sentence.
"Yeah...I saw it too.."
Katy went out of the room.
"You've been very good." Said Foster.
"Thank you. Anyway this man is still hidden something, but I think we'll found out it with the husband of the victim. The main thing is that he is innocent. When he said he didn't killed her he was feeling so sad...also guilty but I don't know why. But it's okay, it is enough."
"Very good start." Said Lightman and they all went back to the car.

Very soon they came back to the Lightman Group.
"Locker, Torres, I want you to call the husband of the victim and bring him here." Ordered Lightman.
"What could I do now?" Asked Katy.
"You can take a break in the break area until Mr. Huston will be here. Foster, escort her."
"Let's go." Replied Gill.
They went there and drunk a coffee and Foster an orange slushie...of course.
"Why did you started studying micro expressions?" Asked Gillian.
"I...you know, it's just that in my family never been easy...they just made me love what I studied.." Gillian saw that she remembered something that made her sorrowful. Maybe Katy saw that Foster noticed it or maybe she just wanted to share it to someone, so she said it. "I've been adopted."
"I'm sorry. I've adopted a little girl too some years ago, but then her real mother wanted her back."
"I'm sorry for that."
Out of the blue came Cal.
"Mr. Huston is here"
"We come" said Foster. Cal nodded went back to the man.
"Do you like him?" Asked suddenly Katy.
"What?"
"Are you in love with Cal?"
"No.."
"Come on, your pupils dilates, your face is expressive and your lips are slightly parted while talking to him, you make a lot of eye contact with him and your nostrils slightly flared."
"Let's go."
"You're trying to change speech."
Gillian didn't say anything and just looked at the girl with a little smile. Was it so clear? It was just an hour that Katy was here and she already found it out.
"It's nothing bad." said again the young girl entering in the interrogation room with Foster.
"What isn't bad?" Asked Cal
"Nothing." replied Gillian.
