chapter 10- the escape!

Logon’s pov

I looked around at my unit. We were all shocked by Razor’s death. Two of my team were injured and one was dead. To make it worst, we have a bloody civilian to protect.

“Ok, we have to get outta here.” I said, organising a escape plan, “Spartan and Sprayer, you take out the guard next time he comes in. take his weapons. You are covering our advance. Archer, you’ll be helping Karren around. You will also acquire weapons if we find any. Triss, your to staying in the middle of the group. Being the only civilian, you the most likely to get hit.” I looked around my unit, “Have you all got that.”

“Yes sir!” came from four throats.

“Yes Logon.” Triss said meekly.

“Ok, lets get some rest.” I walked over to Karren and sat down next to he, making sure not to put pressure on my wounded arm.

“How’s the leg?” I asked with concern

“Hurts like hell.” She replied, “Do you happen to have any pain killers?”

“Yes, I have a hidden pocket the didn’t check.” I said back, reaching to the cuff of my cargo pants

“I just noticed, you don’t have you trench coat.”

“It annoys the crap out of me. Here, take this, it should help for the pain.” I handed her the pill. She slipped it into her mouth.

“Get some rest, you’ll need your strength.” I told her, lying down so she could rest her head on my stomach.

“What about you? Your arm has been shot. You must rest.” She said, lying down.

I stroked her head, “I’ll survive. I’ll survive if you do.” She slowly drifted into unconsciousness. I could see her chest rising and falling, in time with her breathing.

“Will she be all right?” Triss whispered, crawling over to us.

“If we can get her pain killers, she will make it.” I replied, looking at her mangled leg.

“Will you be all right?” she continued.

“Yes. I will survive for now.” I said back, “get some rest, you’ll need it.” she nodded and moved off. I slowly closed my eyes, but couldn’t get into the bliss reassesses of sleep. Images kept on flashing through my head of Razor’s death. Slowly, I fell asleep only because of fatigue from the past few days.

Time skip

I woke slowly. I don’t know how, but I knew it was morning. I didn’t move, lest I wake Karren. I looked around to see that only archer was awake.

“Sir, we posted a watch. I took Karren’s shift.” He informed me

“Thanks, that’ll do her good.” I replied, “Has there been any information?”

“Yes, they guards will be giving us breakfast soon.” He answered.

i nodded, “wake every one up and get ready.” I slowly tapped Karren’s shoulder, “Karren. Its time to wake up.” She slowly opened her eyes and looked around before groaning.

“How’s the leg?” I asked

“Hurts a lot still.” She said. I helped her sit up, wrenching my injured arm in the process. I hissed as the pain continued.

“Sir, it’s almost time.” Archer said walking over.

“Good, get ready to help Hunter up when the time comes.” I said. I looked around and saw Triss, “stay over there, you’ll be safe.” She nodded and moved over to it. I got ready to help Karren up. We waited about ten minuets before we heard the key in the lock. Spartan moved to the left, Sprayer to the right. The door opened and two guards walked in. they saw all of us except Sprayer and Spartan. They bot moved in with a tray of food and set it down on the floor. As they straitened back up, Sprayer and Spartan struck. Sprayer got his target in a headlock whilst sprayer just cracked his dude’s neck. Whatever the move, the guards were taken out efficiently. While they took the weapons, the rest of us started moving. Archer and me lifted Karren into a standing position and started moving.
