Bite Me. (A Vampire vs. Werewolf Love Story) [part 13]
***
Aaron- Age 18
I woke up surrounded by the pack.
I saw Matt first, as he picked up his hand for a high-five.
"What?" I asked, skeptically looking at every person in the room.
"Well," said Matt, "I'm congratulating you for kicking Alpha's butt."
"No," I said, raising my head from the cold ground, "You're kidding, right?"
"I'm as serious as a heart attack, Aaron. I'm not sure what you fought about, but you totaled him, bro."
Fight?
Oh my gosh.
I started to remember.
"Where is Jeanette? Is she alive?"
Matt kinda shrugged, "Beats me. They haven't let anyone in that room since she went in. Pretty serious stuff, man."
"Where is Alpha now?"
"Outside Jeanette's room. He seems pretty ticked."
I remembered to fight.
*FLASHBACK START*
"Jeanette is dead," gulped Alpha.
"WHAT?" I had asked, not believing him.
"I'm sorry, after she has the baby, she will die. As of right now, she is fighting for breath."
"Let me go in," I yelled, narrowing my eyes.
"No, the doctors are scared enough..." he tried.
I put him against the wall again.
"Scared? Those sorry doctors don't know what scared is. Now let me see her, or I will show every single person on this island what scared truly means." I had raged.
"Aaron," he said, as he put his hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me.
"I don't need your sympathy," I said, swatting his hand.
He stared at me for a moment.
"I think maybe you should rest," Alpha instructed.
"No, I'm not leaving until I see Jeanette." I had said with a stern glare.
"Come," he said, pushing me towards the door.
"Get your hands off of me!" I yelled, punching him in the mouth.
He reached for his lip, and looked at his hand, which held the blood his lip withdrew.
He pulled his hand up, and slapped my face.
I quickly turned around and gave him another punch.
He pulled his hand up, and I grabbed his arm, twisting it forward.
Anger filled my senses. He wanted a fight? I'll give him a fight.
Alpha shrieked in pain as he kicked my leg, making me collapse.
I got up, shoved his stomach, and made him fall into the chairs in the room.
I awaited the next move, but I knew it was over the minute I saw the blood on the chairs.
His body lay amongst the broken chair, limp and weak.
I knew he wasn't dead, but he sure wouldn't mess with me again.
I felt a pang of guilt for fighting with him, but the guilt was soon replaced with determination.
I was ready to get what I came for.
Jeanette.
I opened the door that Alpha had once guarded, and I saw a tall man, 6'7'', with giant muscles.
He must have been guarding the inside.
Why did Lupus have to be so protective?
I saw the guy swing a punch for me, obviously reading the determination in my eyes.
And that was the last thing I remembered.
*FLASHBACK END*
After remembering this, I ran towards Jeanette's room, praying that I could apologize to Alpha.
I honestly didn't know what had come over me.
Rage.
Confusion.
And fear, mostly.
That fight had happened like an instinct, and I was still wondering if it was all real.
I had to face the reality of it, though.
Hopefully a weak apology would be enough.
I spotted Alpha, and I came toward him, head hung low.
"Is sorry enough?" I asked, noticing his wounds.
His face was smeared in blood, and his body was covered in bruises.
I looked at myself and noticed one bruise.
I can't believe I had just pounded the man I had looked up to since I was a kid.
Alpha laughed.
"It was out of instinct. Fighting is in your blood, and surely nothing to be sorry about. We are protective creatures, and protecting Jeanette was your priority. Completely understandable."
Thank God he wasn't mad.
"I'm proud of you, Aaron," he smiled.
"I fell in love with a vampire, got her pregnant, broke everyone one of your rules, and then beat you up...How are you proud of me?"
"You are now a father," he stated, "A title no Lupus has ever attained."
I stood completely still.
"You mean-?" I said, my lip trembling.
"It's a boy, Aaron."
I felt happy and still confused as Alpha laughed.
"And a girl." he chuckled.
"Wha-?"
"Twins. Jeanette has given birth to two beautiful children."
I laughed with Alpha, feeling overjoyed.
Then I felt fear again.
"Is Jeanette OK?" I asked, pulling off the question I had feared to ask.
He looked at me sternly, as tears filled his eyes. He pulled close and hugged me.
"Depends on your definition of 'OK'," he sighed, staring into my eyes.
