A Novel Idea ~Book Club~

Hey guys!
I'm not really publishing any writing right now, but I remember trying to get inspiration, motivation, constructive criticism and make friends while I was trying to write a wattpad story.  So now my goal is to help you guys out: I'm starting a book club!

This book club will be called A Novel Idea.

I'll give you a quick run down of how I'm going to operate this club.

This book club will run on a points system.  More on that later, but basically when you lose too many points I'm kicking you out.

There will be two  groups, in each group you will be required to do three chapters of your partners book.
Group 1: For people who don't have a ton of time, or just want some simple advice.  You will be required to comment three sentences about what you liked/didn't like, what could be done better, etcetera.  Sentences like "Good job," or "I liked it," don't count.  That can be your fourth sentence.
Group 2: This group gives a more in depth comment.  You must write a minimum of six sentences on three of your partners chapters. Give lots of advice, more than just what you liked/didn't like.
Group 3 (Readers): This is for people who just really enjoy commenting, but don't have a book of their own.  You can read any book of your choice from our club, just let me know each time you do three chapters on a book and I'll award you points. Sometimes a reader might get paired with someone in group one or two if we have an odd number and need to fill the spot.

Points System
This is how I'll know how much effort you're putting into the book club, and if you're following the expectations.
The points values will be as follows:
2 points for completing your assignment each week (this is MANDATORY)
-1 point for the first week your assignment is late
-2 points the week after, and I'll keep doubling the amount of points I take away each week until you complete the assignment (you don't get a new assignment until you complete the late one)
3 points if your are nominated as Super Commenter
1 point for commenting a minimum of four sentences on the book of the week (max of four points, but you can keep commenting). The book of the week is a great way to earn points.
2 points if you recommend the club to someone and they join.

I will allow you to get to -2 points before I kick you out of the club. Depending how many points you have, it may take a while for you to lose the points. If you get to 0 or -1 you can get back up by doing the book of the week and completing your assignment.

Super Commenter
If you think your partner gave you awesome feedback, private message me, and they will be awarded 3 points, and they'll get a shoutout in the next assignment. One person from each group can win this. I'll be checking and looking for super commenters, and I'll check the person nominated before they get the points to make sure that the comment is good.

Book of the Week
This seems to be a trend in book clubs. I will be choosing a Book of the Week by many different factors. If you've earned a ton of points recently maybe I'll choose you. You can nominate a book (pm me if you think someone's book should be book of the week). Or maybe some weeks I'll just choose randomly.

Assignment Posting and Due Dates
Assignments will be posted on Sundays by 11:59pm CST. Assignments will be due the following Saturdays by 8pm CST, so I have time to tally points and make new pairings. If you know you won't have it done on time, pm me so I don't have to take away points.

When You Finish the Assignment
Once you're done your assignment for the week, you'll need to comment on that week's chapter of this book. Please comment something along the lines of:

"Done with user a's book. I did x chapters of the botw." (book of the week)

Other Important Notes
If you need to take a hiatus, just let me know, but please finish your assignments first. Same goes for quitting.

If your partner isn't commenting enough, pm me. I'll talk to them and take away points.

If you have an incomplete assignment, you will not be getting a new one until you complete the one you're missing.

When you are done your assignment please comment on the post that has the assignment you just finished on it. Also let me know if you've commented on the book of the week and how many chapters you did.

If you and your partner would like to continue working together, pm me and I will pair you together again.
