Cities are monuments
of our materialistic greed
their industrial towers penetrate the skies
vomiting sickness into the atmosphere
ejaculating black smoke
plumes of pollution
forming tainted clouds
mechanical thunder roaring impurity
raining filth down on our rooftops
like a hailstorm of acid bullets
We're driving chariots of death through the streets
metal contraptions on squealing wheels
defecating floods of oil
splattering the roads we walk
and the carbon dioxide lingers
rising from the burning asphalt
clawing its way into every breath of air
painting our insides black
Every inch of territory
is being molested
by an inferno of fossil fuels
waste burning power plants
deserts of spoiled garbage
rivers of sludge
supplying electricity
for brainless organisms
ignorant of all the blood on their hands
Step outside
inhale the toxic fumes
of a decaying planet
ravaged by human evolution
fanned by corporate greed
contaminating the oxygen supply
corroding our lungs
cancer delivered with surgical precision
we're dying faster
while reaching ever higher
killing ourselves with good intentions
in the name of evolution
We created this mess
and we're the only ones
who can hope to clean it up
