Tainted Night

Night*

Night, the time after the light, the time of darkness.

Night, the time of fear and hatred. The time of pain and screams.

Night, I have never trusted the night. Living in a world ruled by vampires and witches. A world where werewolves and demons are roaming around free isn’t the safest place to be. Ever since the Great War nothing has been the same. Ever since that day humans have lived in never ending fear, knowing they are nothing more than walking blood bags.

 Their common wish is now death as they want to run away from their dreadful future. Every day a human is taken from their families to work for the ‘kind‘ vampires. Girls are living in agony fearing the day they catch the eye of one of the supernatural creatures, they know the terrible consequences. Boys are taken every day to work as slaves in the houses of the ‘fair’ rulers.

Nothing is good anymore.

Ever since that day.

Oh how bad I wish nothing of that ever happened!

Oh how I wish that day never came!

Oh how I wish I could change what happened!

But I can’t because I am only a human.

A fragile, breakable creature, which has no rights, no freedom, and no say in their future. But I do have something and I am planning to keep it safely. I can’t let that one thing slip through my fingers. Like everyone else did.

Hope. Faith. Trust.
