Keep in mind that I've never been to a VidCon, so if anything is inaccurate, don't kill me! 😊
----------Stepping out of the shower the next morning, Elizabeth peered at herself in the mirror. She had ringlets of shoulder-length dark hair and luminous green eyes. Having done karate for 4 years, she had a slightly muscular build. She plucked the comb from her bag and ran it through her slick hair. She then got dressed with a gray hoodie and jeans. VidCon didn't start until 2 so Elizabeth had plenty of time.
She started reading about the city she was in, and in every article she began coming across the same myth. A volume titled the "Celestial Codex." A book that is said to contain the secrets to magic and the elements. It's author is unknown but is theorized to be a group of ancient spirits that wished for all forms of magic to be accepted and practiced for future generations. The story fascinated her greatly and nearly made her late for VidCon.
She caught a cab to a large hall. Inside were multiple modern staircases, one of which had a sign next to it that read "VidCon This Way." The same warm feeling she had on the plane resurfaced as she descended the steps. Past the steps was an enormous room that looked like it was once a theatre with a stage on the back wall. It was void of chairs but was filled with tables and people and sounds of joy and...YouTubers. The best YouTubers sit behind the tables, tending to their fans. Suddenly a burly man with a black outfit stepped in front of her. "Ticket please." He said.
"Oh!" She said and dug deeply into her bag. The thin piece of paper did not reach her fingers. Elizabeth slowly raised her eyes to the muscular man, who's dull expression hadn't changed.
"Uh...I-I can't...it's not...um.." She stammered, anxiety constantly clogging her throat. The guard's deep voice raised and frightened her. "No ticket. No entry."
"Please! I came all the way from--"
"That is not my problem. You need to leave."
Her throat knotted even more than she thought possible. "Hey. She's here with me." Said a familiar voice behind them. Confused, Elizabeth turned to see who had just so randomly claimed her.
Tyler Oakley.
