It was near the end of the first semester of my sophomore year in high school, and my friends and I decided to start a book club. Our teacher Mr. Matthews was taking role. "Jessie," he said. I sprung up from a nap I was trying to take in the back of the class, because I only got 4 hours of sleep last night.

"Here!" I responded.

"Really, Jessie again how many times are you going to do this." He said. He started giving me a long speech about how I should go to sleep earlier. After a little bit, his words just faded into an inaudible mumble. Mr. Matthews always talked in monotone, so it was hard to pay attention. "And if you do this one more time you are going to the principal's office." He continued off with role, and I just fell asleep again.

The whole day I ways in a zombie like state. It was like I was there, but I didn't feel any type of emotion. After school I met up with my friends in the school library for the book club. My best friend Manny and I sat next to each other, while on my right was some guy I sometimes see in the halls, and Daisy my other friend sat to my left. Daisy got up a said" Okay welcome members to our first book club meeting." The four of us clapped lazily, "so let's go around the room and introduce ourselves. Jessie you want to go first."

"Sure," I said not caring, "Hi I'm Jessie, I'm sixteen, and my favorite hobby is walking on train tracks while I hum songs."

"Well great, now you next to Jessie." she said pointing to the boy to my right.

"Hi, my name is Billy, I'm fifteen years old, and my favorite hobby is reading." He said nervously. Every now and then I caught him staring at Daisy. I was a little creeped out, but I didn't say anything.

"Okay great, you now." She said, but when she looked at who it was, she almost fainted.

"Okay hi my name is Manny, I'm sixteen, and my favorite hobby is Yelling at my mom and smoking." Manny said. He tried to act like the bad boy, but he was just as a nerd as Billy.

"Well I better introduce myself then." Daisy said, but before she could continue Manny cut her off and said "Nobody cares!"

"Ugg. You are the worst."

"I know," neither of them really liked each other, but the only reason Manny was here was because of me.

"Well whatever. If you would pass this around Billy, then we can talk about the books we are going to read." Daisy said giving Billy a long list of books.

"We have to read all of these books this year?" I asked.

"No of course not, these are all the books we are going to read in the next two years." As she said this, my jaw dropped about three feet. Most of the them were unknown books that she randomly picked up from the library. Books like The Road Not Taken or Happy Nightmares. There were some popular books like The Hunger Games and Harry Potter, but then I got half way down the page and there was a book named :Mls. "hey what is this one about." I said pointing to it.

"Oh its really interesting story on the life of a girl named Jessie like you, and it follows her unusual life from birth to death. It's really good." She said in excitement. I was a little weirdid out, but of course I didn't care because I was too tired. She probably just picked it, because she knew I was going to be in the book club. We went on about more boring stuff like: You're in charge of the books, or you break them you pay for them.

After the meeting Manny and I meet up in the hallway outside of the library. "Jessie I really hate this school. Maybe we should just jump this place, and run away with each other." As he said this I started to chuckle.
