"I hate you.""No you don't."
"I know."
The love of my life was staring back at me. Those eyes that makes me weak in the knees. With those lips that I have been deprived of for so long. I haven't seen her in 4 years, but here she is standing in front of me looking stunning as ever.
It Probably shouldn't have been the first thing to say to her, but considering where we left off, it was understandable. She knows that she has me wrapped around her fingers and by the look in her eyes she knows that I still am.
I hate that I can't hate her. I hate how I haven't seen her for 4 years and I still want to kiss her and hold her. I hate that she looks even more beautiful. And most of all, I hate that I still love her.
"What are you doing here?" I didn't mean to seem rude but I wasn't expecting to see her again. She left. She left me all alone and now she's back. So to say I was pissed would be an understatement.
"I'm back in town and I figured I should come by and say hi." Silence. I didn't know what to say. Was she here to stay? Or was she just passing through? And how long was she staying? "I got a job at one of the law firms in the city." As if she was reading my mind.
She always does that. She always know what I'm thinking or what I'm going to say next. She can read me like a book and I hate it.
"Mom?" I hear tiny foot steps approaching me, bringing me back to reality. "Mom where are you?"
"Baby I'm at the door." I called out. Couple seconds later and he's standing beside me staring at the woman in front. "Did you need something?" I asked the 4 year old boy, while he's still rubbing his eyes trying to wake himself up.
"No, you weren't in your room and I didn't know where you were." He is the light of my world. He's my everything. He has her eyes and her brown hair. He is a lot like her in so many ways. Probably that's why I never stopped loving her. "Who's that?" He asked bringing my attention back to the lady in front.
From the look in her eyes she knew. She knew that my son was hers. She knew that she had messed up. There was a hint of hurt and shock in her eyes but I could care less.
"Hey little man, I'm Dinah," she says ruffling up his hair. The boy smiled. He was always open to meeting new people just like her.
"I'm Jayden," he giggles out trying to fix back his hair even though it was a mess. He had her hair type too. It was thick and curly and took time to tame in the morning. He's suppose to get a haircut sometime this week. It was getting hard for him to see.
"Well hey there Jayden." She replied. I didn't want her to find out this way but what did she expect. For me to tell her she has a kid? Because we both know that if she knew she would have dropped everything and be by my side to help me take care of our child. But I couldn't make that happen. No, I loved her too much. So I made the sacrifice.
We made eye contact again and I knew she wanted to come in but I didn't trust myself to have her in my house. So I changed the subject. "Well it was nice seeing you," I said trying to send her off, "but me and Jayden have a fun filled day ahead of us, isn't that right Jayden?" I asked the boy who was now hugging my legs.
"Yes we do." He replied oblivious to to tension that was going on.
The next few words that came out of her mouth made me wish I didn't open the door. Made me wish she hadn't come back to town. I wasn't over her but I was almost. But seeing her now made it clear I was never close to being over her to begin with. "Can I join?" I looked at her in disbelief. But before I could decline her offer my son, our son, beat me to it.
"Yes, that would be cool, can she join mommy?" the happy 4 year old said.
"I'm sure Dinah has somewhere to be," even saying her name again brought back the feelings that I so badly wanted to disappear.
"Actually, I'm free the whole day, whatever you're doing I'll be happy to join." She knew I didn't want to be around her. But she doesn't care, the look in her eyes says it all. She wasn't just here to say hi. No. She was here to get me back. And what Dinah Jane wants, Dinah Jane gets. But we both knew that she already has me.
I bit my lip contemplating how to get myself out of this situation and then I caught her in the corner of my eye staring at me. She was staring at my lips. Her soft hands were place on my chin in no time tugging my lips from between my teeth. The fire was still there. The butterflies were still there. "You know what that does to me." She states as her hands were now at her side. I gulp, her voice was a little lower.
"Please mom? Please can Dinah stay?" pleads the light skinned boy. He was looking at me with those beautiful caramel color eyes that I couldn't resist because they were hers. And by the slight smirk on her face she knew what was happening. So I gave in.
"Fine."
"Yay, I'm going to change," he sprinted up the stairs.
"Be careful!" I hollered after him.
It was just us two again and the air is much thicker.
"Normani Kordei Hansen..." She stated. Yes I'm married to her but to be fair we were drunk and she wouldn't sign the divorce papers when she was leaving, her parents believed I was the best thing that ever happened to her. So they were no help at all. To say her parents were rich was an understatement. They own a lot of businesses. Dinah was suppose to take over the family business being the oldest. But she wanted something different she wanted to be a lawyer. She wanted to help people who couldn't afford one.
She always wanted to help others. That is just who she is. Her parents were very understanding of her decision and stood by her. Even though public defenders didn't get paid a lot, she didn't need the money. Her parents gave her a huge allowance once she graduated college. And now she's back for me.
She took a step closer, my breath hitched once I felt her lips brush against my ear. "...you are mine and mine alone. You are my wife and the mother of my child. I told you I was coming back for you and here I am. And whatever I want I get." Her hands found their way to the curve of my back. That has always been her favorite spot on my body. But her hands didn't stop there, they kept going lower until they were resting on my ass.
Dinah was always the possessive type. She likes to claim what was hers. One of the many reasons I fell for her. She gave my ass a firm squeeze, I groan but it came out more as moan. I can feel her smiling against my ear. She continued, "I've missed you my love...Daddy's home."
