A lanky, wiry figure stood outside of a small, blue-ish gray flat. His azure eyes roamed the tiny building, seemingly looking for something. Or rather, someone. "Yeah, dad, I'll be back in a few-!" Ah. There she was. A rather (dark/light/tan) skinned girl had just finished calling out to her father, a scowl present on her lovely features, until she had spotted him. Her best friend in the entire world. "Oncie!" She cheered and embraced the raven haired young man. "Hey, (N/N)." He chuckled, holding her tightly. "You ready to go?" She giggled and nodded her head, taking his hand in hers as they made their way into the heart of their rather boring little town, Greenville.

Once-ler smiled warmly at his friend, (Y/N). He honestly did love her. And he knew she loved him back. So why hadn't he made a move? Well, the time didn't seem quite right. And besides, (Y/N) already knew that the sapphire eyed man had had feelings for him, and she knew that he was aware of the way she felt, as well. Perhaps they both wanted to stay friends a bit longer, for fear that if they ever broke up, they could no longer be friends? Or perhaps they were both too afraid that the other would find their inexperience unsatisfying? Whatever the reason, neither of them have yet to officially "confess" the way they felt about the other. A sudden stop in (Y/N)'s little stroll gave the Once-ler a one way ticket out of his little trance. "What's the matter, (N/N)?" The lean adolescent questioned his friend. "Uh, n-nothing, Oncie," she said, suddenly fascinated by the little pebbles around their feet. "Its just, uh- we're just getting ready to go back home, right?" The Once-ler nodded and (Y/N) continued. "Well, d'you think you could walk me back to my mom's place?" She asked. Oncie stepped back a bit, surprised that this was what was on her mind when it looked like she had just seen a ghost. "Uh, yeah, of course." He'd said, chuckling and ruffling her (h/c) hair. "But, didn't you promise your dad you'd go back to his place?" His eyes flickered down to her forearm, to see her trying extremely hard to cover up her wrist. "Uh, yeah, but I don't really want to go back right now-" the (e/c) eyed young woman said as she tried to avoid her friend's gaze. "Well, why not? He won't be too mad at you for being a little late, will he? How bad could it possibly be?" He asked, a small smile on his optimistic face. She shook her head and hung it low. "No, Oncie- I really don't wanna go back..." she informed, her voice just above a whisper. "Hey, (Y/N), what the matter? You can tell me, I'm your best friend! Whatever's going on with you and your dad can't be too bad, right?" Once-ler said in an attempt to cheer her up. He smiled when she wrapped her small arms around him, hugging him close. The smile immediately crashed, and a frown grew onto his rounded, baby-ish features when he heard sniffling and whimpering coming from his best friend. "H-he hurts me, Oncie- He hurts me real bad." She whispered, pushing up the sleeves of her powder pink sweater to reveal various bruises all around her arms. Once growled. "How could he do this to you, (y/n)?! How could anyone harm anything so beautiful? How...How could you let him do this to you?" He interrogated, clutching her by the waistband of her jeans so hard his fingertips turned white. "I-I'm sorry, Oncie, I-" "No. Don't apologise for what he did to you. To what that monster did to you." He told her, kissing up and down her arms as if the gesture would heal every cut and bruise. "I promise you, (Y/N). I'll do anything within my power to keep him from hurting you. I won't let him hurt you again." And to seal his contract, he brought his lips down to hers where they met in a sweet and passionate kiss.
