~Wills POV~
I sat on the brick wall in front of the school, freezing my ass off. Of course right before Christmas break my mom doesn't show. My twin, Luke, went home with Alex and Gavin to hang out. I just wanted to go home and watch TV all day, but clearly, that wasn't going to happen. It was about 3:00 now. I had been waiting for OVER AN HOUR. I had no hat or gloves to keep me from freezing, and I kept telling myself that the second I went back in the building, my mom would come. I am now regretting my choices. Did Leah go home? Pretty sure, and anyways she has field hockey right now. I sighed, leaving that whitish carbon dioxide trail. You might be thinking, why don't I just drive home? I am 16 after all! Well, Luke took my car. Yes, my twin stole my car. These are not my proudest moments. I finally got up and turned around quickly, looking down as I did so, which resulted in me hitting someones chest with my head.
"Well, so much for surprise!" I heard a familiar voice laugh.
My eyes looked up at the red-head I new. I smiled and giggled back. This was my best friend, James. He smiled back at me, and started with
"I was going to surprise you!" He said, looking slightly crestfallen, but masked it with a semi-fake smile.
"With what?" I questioned, following his arms with my eyes. They were tightly wrapped around his back. He quickly whipped them around to show me the small, poorly wrapped present. He handed it to me and said,
"Merry Christmas!" I looked at him and willingly took the small gift. Opening it wasn't much of a struggle due to the poor wrapping . When it was open, I saw a cute little football pin. I put it on my shirt and awwed at the cute gift.
"Wait, but I don't have anything!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up to my head, and cursed myself.
"It's okay! Your friendship is the best gift!" He smiled wide and laughed. I giggled and shivered again. Wrapping his arms around me, he pulled me closer to warm me up. I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck and smiled. He hugged me tighter, and I felt the urge to kiss him. Before I had time to react though, he pecked the top of my head softly. Blushing furiously, I tried shoving my head deeper into the crook of his neck. James giggled and comes his hands through my hair, saying,
"I'll drive you home."
And just like that, I was back in my house. I decided not to watch TV, but rather text James all night long.
