It's fourth period and I'm dying to get out of here already. I mean its Math and we have a substitute who is making us read for the rest of the 5 minutes that we have, ugh! Well at least that gives me time to read my Twilight book and remember how lonely I am.
After the 5 minutes were up the bell had finally rang. I got up from my desk and went straight to lunch expecting my best friend Destiny to be there at our usual seats inside. Instead I feel a pounce on my back . "Hey chika" Destiny said in her sarcastic voice she always made. Also btw, Chika is what we always call each other.
"Soo have you gotten your Winter Formal tickets yet?" Destiny said while we were walking towards the lunch line together.
"Uh, no" I replied to her when we finally reached the long ass lunch line.
"Why not? I already bought mine and I'm going to be super bored without you." She said as we were moving along the line.
"Of coarse you wont be bored you have Angel and I have, nobody and it's going to be super embarrassing that everyone else I know has a date but me. While you guys dance your way through slow songs, I'll be sitting at a table eating just like I did last time." I didn't tell her that until now because I didn't want to make her feel bad.
We had finally gotten our lunches (which were hamburgers) a sat down in our usual seats.
"Dude seriously? You were all alone? You should've asked me to slow dance with you" Destiny said playfully and chuckled at herself. So I grabbed a lettuce and threw it at her face and we both laughed. She just got the piece of lettuce and threw it on the floor.
"But seriously, this dance will be different. I'll try and find a guy that is perfect for you" Destiny said and after words taking a big bite out of her burger. I sighed.
"To me that's not how things work you know? I want a guy to be interested in me because he wants to. Not because you or someone told him to." I told her now in serious mode which was really weird because usually Destiny and I were never serious.
" Yeah I get you." Destiny had said. It was awkward for a moment and we continued eating our lunches.
"What if a guy asked you to the formal? Then would you go?" She said now making the moment less awkward than what is was. Thank God!
"Well obviously. That would actually pretty awesome if a guy asked a girl like me out." I said happily still eating.
"What the hell do you mean a girl like you Delilah?" She said in serious mode again. Really?
"What do you mean what do I mean? Come on, every one knows that I'm just not the kind of girl guys ask out." I told her quietly.
"Dude, do you know that you are so pretty? And the only reason guys don't ask you out is because one, they are shy, two some guys don't talk to you and they might be like, "I don't know her so things wouldn't work out". And three, some guys say to themselves "Well a girl like her would never go out with a guy like me" She said in her guy voice. That actually made me giggle a bit.
"Thanks Destiny but I know that's not true. Lets just go outside at meet up with Angela Nayely, Giovanna and Celeste." I told her as I got up to go throw away my tray as Destiny followed.
"Okay" she finally said.
I heard a bunch of hello's from a bunch of my friends while me and Destiny were walking to a spot where me and my "gang" hang out.
"Hey guys" Both Destiny and I said to our other best friends. Then they all said their "Hi's" as well.
It was a normal day at lunch and everything went smooth. No drama, and It was all cool. I was especially happy that Destiny's boyfriend Angel (who is btw tall as hell) wasn't here today so she paid more attention to our friends and I than him.
We all heard the bell rang for us to go inside so we all sighed and continued talking about random shit as we were walking to go inside.
