Come on Ben.
It's not that hard.
You can do it.
"Hi"
She looked out from her locker and smiled. How is her smile always so brilliant? "Good day, Benvolio." A smirk replaced her smile. This is so unfair.
"It's poetic." I shrugged, "Have some respect for my man, Will."
Oh come on.
" 'your man, Will?'" She threw her head back in laughter, "quite poetic, I must agree, why'd your parents name you 'Benvolio'?" She continued shuffling things around.
"They think their love was like Romeo and Juliet's." I sighed, who doesn't love a good love story?
She stopped chuckling and her eyes widened, looking around the hall, "wow that's amazing, how'd they meet?"
"In a tattoo parlour, my mum messed up my dad's tattoo." I gnawed on the inside of my lip , remembering the countless times my parents brought their first meeting up anytime anything was mentioned.
Allegra's eyebrows crinkled for second. She bit her lip and broke out in a huge grin, I swear it lit up the entire hallway. "That's the most beautiful start to a love story I've ever heard."
"You think that now, you should hear them re-telling it."
She started fidgeting with her sweater sleeve and rolling it between her thumb and index finger.
"Hey, Allegra?"
"yes, Benvolio?"
"would you like to get lunch sometime?" I swallowed the knot in my throat and licked my extremely dry lips.
I saw her chest freeze and eyes squint, "like ... a date?"
"Sure, if you'd like, I mean." I couldn't breath.
"I'd love to." She gestured for my phone and quickly typed in her number, "here you go, text me."
"I will do that." I replied, clutching my phone, at this moment - my dearest possession, "I will text you, tonight - or maybe tomorrow, um I'll text you soon, yeah..." I started walking backwards and she stood there tilting her head and smiling. Goddamn it, Allegra, stop being so beautiful.
"See you soon, Benvolio."
"That you will, Allegra." I said, pointing at her and tripping at the same time.
Smooth.
