We had miraculously made it through the first month home with Sandra, and things were starting to return to normal. Logan was going back to work and I had been working on my book again, and getting things done from home for the Stars Hallow Gazette. Jess had been a huge help while I had been recovering from giving birth and soon I'd be able to start going back and forth again, to relieve some of the work load.

Sandra was currently in the same room with us at night because it made middle of the night feedings easier. But other than that, we were adjusting. Logan had offered to hire a nanny so I could have help while recovering, especially while he was at work. But I decided I wanted to take care of her myself. I was here, so I didn't see the reason to hire somebody. However, I did appreciate the offer.

"Where's my Grand-daughter!" Mom said bursting through the door.

"She's sleeping." I said, pouring a second mug of coffee.

"She's always sleeping." She said.

"Oh, stop mopping." I replied handing her the mug.

"What if I just go in and..." She started heading for the hallway.

"Don't you dare." I said.

"I just want to see her." She said whining.

"Well here." I said, tossing the baby monitor in her direction.

"Ha, ha. Very funny." She said.

She looked down at the monitor and watched as Sandra slept peacefully in her crib.

"So how are things going?" She asked.

"Good. Logan's back at work." I said, sipping my coffee.

"That's good. Gotta bring home the bacon huh?" She said.

"Yeah." I said with a laugh. "Hey mom. Can I ask you something?"

"Anything hun. You know that?" She said, serious this time.

"What do you think about Logan?" I asked.

"Well...I think he really stepped up here. I think he's always loved you. Honestly, from where he was, way back at Yale to now, he's really grown up. Why do you ask?" She said.

"Grandma mentioned something, when she came and visited me in the hospital." I started.

"What?" Mom asked.

"Something about marriage." I finished.

She was quiet before saying anything. "Hun. You love him right?"

"Of course I do." I said. "I'm just, I don't know, scared on some level. He hasn't said anything about it and we've been together almost a year now, and it's not like our relationship is new or anything."

"Well, I'm not going to tell you what you have to do. You're a grown woman now, a Yale graduate. I think you can make your own decisions. But you might be the one who has to make that big gesture this time. He will always be there for you, no matter what you choose. Just like that episode of the Twilight Zone that you told me about." She said.

I sipped my coffee, I had some decisions to make.

Logan:

I sat at my desk, looking at the ring I had proposed to Rory with all those years ago.

"Logan." Mitchum said walking into my office.

"Dad." I said back closing the ring box quickly, stuffing it in my pocket.

"So how's Rory?" He asked sitting down.

"She doing good. Adjusting to being a mom, and recovering. How's the divorce coming?" I asked.

"Almost finalized. These things take forever." He said. "Thinking about proposing to Gilmore?"

"What?" I asked

"Logan, I'm not stupid. I saw the ring box." He said.

"Well, if you have to know. The thought crossed my mind. But, Rory hasn't shown any interest in the idea. Plus it's the ring that I proposed with before." I said.

"Ah, I see." He said and then the room fell silent. "Well, I have to go. You'll figure it out." He finished then walked out the door.

I pulled out the ring, and looked at it one more time. Then I put it in my coat pocket and headed for my next meeting.
