I woke up like any other day, but I knew that day was going to be special. It was my birthday, also my first date with my girlfriend. I called my mother, asking her if she can be ready within the hour. I was so thrilled to start the day with Alana. I quickly gathered my things to meet my mother in the car. As we drove to Alana's house, I called her mother, asking if she was about ready. She said " Yes, of course." knowing I was going to be early.
After I picked her up from her house, with no knowledge where to go. We wandered to Veteran's Park. We ended up on the baseball benches, looking at the sky. After talking for what seemed to be hours, Alana suggested we go somewhere more secluded, seeing as she doesn't like groups of people and the park was starting to fill up. I remember an abandoned factory next to the train yard we were by. As we went, I broke open a gate that already had a hole. We wandered around with my knife drawn, due to the fact that I wasn't quite sure if there was anyone there. As we walked by the back entrance, I checked the doors to see if they were locked. They were all locked except for one, which was all the way in the back. As we walked there, both filled with anticipation of what lies beyond the door, she conveniently found a crowbar on the ground. We both entered the room, weary of the dark. I seen an abandoned car that looks as though it was there for years. Curious as we were, we scavenged the vehicle to find it was already ransacked. I took the crowbar and broke the windshield for fun. My girl laughed at me as she stood next to me.
After that, we left, worried someone heard us. As we walked, Alana slowed down a bit before stopping. I asked her what was wrong, she replied, as she smiled lovingly at me, " I just wanted to give you your gift,it is your birthday after all." She was smirking slightly but at the same time she was blushing. I was wondering what this gift was. She moved closer, gripped my tie, and pulled me down to her height before kissing me with her temperate lips. What was only but a few seconds, felt like forever. She pulled away and looked me in the eyes before smiling and whispering those three words that mean so much to me. " I love you." My face grew hot as I said the same. I slowly leaned back in and kissed her again.
" We should get going." I told her. So we did and walked along the train tracks. Somewhere along the way, we started holding hands. I asked her if she was hungry but she shook her head and told me no. I knew she was lying so I lead her towards a fast food joint down the road. She complained about me paying but I told her " I am not paying money. I am technically paying time and time with you is worth spending." she tried to hide the fact she was blushing and continued to argue with me. We shared a milkshake as I walked her home. " typical romance scene." I mumbled. Alana bugged me about what I said but I never told her until we started writing this story. She got irritated because she always has to know what I mumble or say. I took her home and told her goodbye, wanting to kiss her one more time but sadly I couldn't because of her father. I didn't want to get shot. You know how fathers are. I went home myself and planted the day into my memory.
