Once upon a time, there was a young woman named Miki. Miki was basically the Santa of this world. Although, she only granted one wish per year, so, not really.
Miki determined the wish by the poinsettias sent to her. People sent her the flowers after speaking their wish onto them.
Whichever flower that outshines the rest, Miki grants the wish it holds.

Miki was flying around in her sleigh to a large warehouse. "Hm, looks like the flowers came today," She said to herself, landing on the white, powdery snow.
Opening the door, hundreds of poinsettias were lining the shelves, whispering the wishes repeatedly. Miki picked up a bright red one and held it to her ear.
"I want a Playstation 4...A giant cake...A cat!" The boy who sent the flower said with hope. Miki put the poinsettia down, continuing to walk through aisles of flowers. Soon, a glimmer caught her attention. Turning to her right, a dark red poinsettia was, despite its color, shining brighter than the rest. Miki was about to pick it up when it repeated its wish.
"I don't want any presents," the girl spoke, her voice quiet, yet firm. Miki heard the opening of a door, and the clatter of some sort of metal equipment. The girl soon followed up her first sentence, "Since it doesn't mean anything if I have no one to share it with. Please, save my little brother, Crooks!"
The girl ended her wish, and the message started to repeat. Miki, making her choice, held the flower close to her chest, and looked at her watch. "It's 8:35..." She muttered under her breath, "I still have time."

"STOP!" A teenage girl with orange hair shouted, ramming her way into a hospital room. There, a boy with banana-yellow hair was resting, his heartbeat starting to lose its way.
The doctor there sighed, and turned to the girl. She held up a hand to the girl's face, "Ryu, you know that Crooks' chance of survival is practically 0%-"
Ryu cut the older woman off, "No! I won't take that! Crooks will make it, I know it! I'll summon down a miracle if I have to! Don't tell me those lies!"
Heaving, Ryu stared into the doctor's faded green eyes. She ran forward, but tripped on an extension cord. Stumbling backward, a pair of cold, pale hands caught her. A sweet, sophisticated voice called to her, "That's where you're right, Ryu."
Looking up, Ryu saw a beautiful, two-toned young woman. The left side of her hair was a faded pink, while the right side had a black tone to it. The woman's left eye was a pitch black, a red burn surrounding it, and her right eye was nonexistent.
It was Miki.
Miki smiled, throwing a mismatched quilt over Crooks' body. Ryu stared at him, nothing happening until he shuffled under the quilt. Crooks sat up, his eyes hazily opened. "Hm? What's wrong?" the six-year-old sleepily murmured. Ryu's eyes produced tears that blurred her vision, streaming down her tan face.
"CROOKS!" Ryu cheered, hugging her brother joyfully. The doctor jumped in shock, and decided to leave the room for privacy. Ryu turned to where Miki was, only to see an open balcony door, letting in a cold breeze.

I would say that this was it, but unfortunately, it wasn't.
In reality, Ryu is a mind-broken 13-year-old girl who just won't believe that her brother died of tuberculosis when she was 9. She has serious schizophrenia and Miki is one of her hallucinations. The end.
