Being who I am I think I'm pretty fortunate, I have a loving family, caring friends, a summer job to help pay for my new car, and an assured ride to college. Yep, life is good.

For the most part anyway, it's not too easy to have a special driver's license saying you naturally have red eyes and flame red hair that looks like you have a greying problem. Yes, I suppose making friends was not the easiest part of my life either but who could blame me, I was born this way, and I looked nothing like my Mother but I guess a lot like my deceased Father- minus the eyes. I never got to meet him, but I know people who never got to meet any of their parents and were adopted, they lived on just fine, I had no room to complain.

Besides, I had two wonderful friends to help me get along,Tammy and Sam have been at my side since sixth grade and haven't budged since. And my Mother, although she's mainly at work by the months, she always took every chance she could to send a message or video chat during her ten minute work breaks, and on Holidays she never missed a chance to decorate the tree and open presents. She worked so hard and saved almost every penny she had to make sure I had everything I needed. I had much to be thankful for and no reasons to complain, and now with my job at the fair all summer I had enough money to buy gas and pay off the car with my own money.

My life was great the way it was, but now and then in everyone's life there's going to be a bump in the road, for me, it was a deep dark ditch I swerved into...

Hi, my name is Cherry Najara, and this is the story of how my life went wrong on the corner of the ring toss and the hammer hitting booth.
