It was about 3:00 a.m. I was struggling to unlock the front door. When I finally got through the door I ran into the bathroom and turned on the light. Looking in the mirror I still didn't recognize myself after the night I'd had. As I washed the blood off of my hands I started to have flashbacks. Why me? After everything I've done for him? I finally seen the end of us.

6 Hours Earlier
It was date night. We were celebrating our three year anniversary. I couldn't wait to surprise him. The lingerie I had under my silky red robe was going to give him chills. I got in my car and prepared for the 30 minute drive.
On my way there I had my playlist going. Old school R&B jams. His and my favorite type of music. I was so excited to see my man. He had been working crazy hours so we could get a place together. He made sure he had his special day off though.
I pulled in the parking lot of his condo and noticed an unfamiliar car parked next to his. Being that each condo had two personal spots, I needed to know who the hell that was. And why were they parked in my damn spot! I parked in the visitors shed and used my key to get in.
When I walked through the door there were a pair of busted uggs sitting by the front door. "I just know these ain't mine. But I also know this nigga ain't stupid." I whispered as I took off my heals to creep through. "I looked In the bottom drawer of his linen closet for his gun. After I grabbed it, I took my pocket knife off of my key chain and sat them in the closet. I wasn't going to think twice if there was someone else in his bedroom. And when I opened his bedroom door, thinking first was the last thing on my mind.
"Kym, it's not what you think." He fixed his lips to lie to me. What I was thinking was he had a side bitch AND forgot our anniversary. "I'm just gone leave this up to y'all!" His bestfriend said. She was naked, in my mans bed, this broad was naked. As she stood up to walk out, I gave her a look that only a mother would give a child. I pointed his loaded nine millimeter. " If you think you walking out of this house after tonight, you're officially the dumbest bitch I ever met." I shot her. I didn't care, I didn't think, I just shot her.
"Babe, what the fuck were you thinking?" He was so confused. "That's the thing, I wasn't." There was nothing but fire in my eyes. I started walking toward the bed leaving the gun on the dresser and opening my knife. I heard her dying while I was planning his death for him. "Kym what are you doing?" He started to crawl backwards toward the headboard. "Not thinking that's for sure." I leaped onto his bed and constantly stabbed him. Where ever that knife went, that's where he was stabbed. I didn't care. When I realized his bestfriend was dead, I stopped stabbing. I sat there for hours drinking our red wine and crying. Then I just had to clean up my mess. I took their phones, my keys, the gun, and my pocket knife. I left them to soak in their blood. I did 90 all the way home.
After washing the blood of my hands, I sat in the tub and let the hot water from the shower head fall on my body. I picked up the gun and then I started to think. Should I?
I sat there with that gun in my hand until my hot water became cold. "What the hell am I thinking about? He not gone lose his life and then force me to take mine." I sat the gun down and turned the water off. As I stepped out of the tub, I noticed there was still blood on my hands. I started to scrub them again. When I finished I walked into my bedroom and in awe I just stood there. Everything in that room reminded me of him. Those blue walls, were walls he painted. Every picture was a picture we'd taken. All those diamonds and pearls, he bought those. I blacked out. It was like I was rioting in my own house.
I burned every t-shirt and boxer he ever left. I broke every piece of jewelry. I ripped every picture. When I finished, it looked as if someone had broken in and destroyed everything. I sat on my bed wondering who I could talk to. Before I could think of a name, my phone rang.
"Hello, Kym! Hellooo???" I didn't know if it was safe to respond. "Bestfriend are you sleep?" Chuck asked. "No, hey Chuck." I finally responded. "You called me Chuck? I'm on my way. Unlock the door and roll the blunt man." "Bestfriend you don't have to..." He hung up. Oh my God. My bestfriend is on his way here. I was thinking to myself. Thinking too fast. I threw on a tank top and shorts and unlocked the door. He was already here.
Before he asked anything he just hugged me. The look in my eyes must have let him know something was wrong. He held me so tight I just started crying. "It's time to talk about it." He whispered. "But I can't. I'm sorry but I can't." "Kym yes you can." He wasn't gonna take no for an answer. I rolled the blunt and poured a shot of 1800. This was gonna be a hard one.
After hours of talking he ordered my plane ticket for the next day and told me to pack. He would drive me to the airport in the morning. So I did just that. I packed all of my things and and waited until 6:30 the next morning. Waiting was not the best decision. By 11 p.m. the story had reached the news and my phone rang non-stop. Texts and calls from my parents, brothers, sisters, and co-workers. I answered for no one but Chuck. Obviously no one we knew had talked to the police otherwise I wouldn't have a front door. So Chuck came at 5 a.m. and put me and my things in the car. He gave me six hundred dollars and explained to me that everything was done I just needed to change my name and look. On our way to the airport, I threw my phone in the river and cut my hair with a raggedy pair of scissors.
We got to the airport and he held me again. "I love you. I'll be there when the story dies." He whispered again. "I love you more. Promise you'll be there?" He kissed my forehead. That was his promise to me. I flew from Chicago to LA. When I arrived I took a cab to the address Chuck gave. There was a furnished apartment waiting for me. I sat in the living room. Just sat there.
Meanwhile in Chicago, someone was telling it all. They told the cops everything. Who I was, why I would have done it and where I lived. I sat there in my freshly painted living-room and decided to turn on the news. There it was. My peaceful looking home. "OH MY GOD!"
I called Chuck, "Bestfriend we have three bigger problems." "Kym wassup?" He was nervous. "My house is on the news. Someone knows where I lived this whole time and..." "What Kym?!" "Chuck, I left the gun."
"Bestfriend... How in the actual fuck?" Chuck's voice changed. "I don't know. I was moving too fast." I started to cry. "DAMN MAN! Is the key still in the back Kym?" He asked. "Yes, under the flower pot." Chuck explained to me that they weren't going to kick in the door just yet. He said that when the news left he would drive through the alley and go through the back. "I'll grab any evidence. Looks like I'm coming earlier than expected Kym." He said. "Bestfriend.. I love you." I sobbed. "What did we talk about? Stop crying man. And stop talking like it's the end. We gone figure this out. You hear me?"I was silent. "KYM!?" "Yeah, I hear you." "I'll be there in the morning."
When the news left, Chuck did just what he said. He went to my house and cleaned evidence away. He bagged up everything in the tub and cleaned the tub out. He cleaned my bedroom and put the last picture of me and my ex on my dresser. He put all of the broken jewelry in his pocket. Cleaned the shot glass, and dumped the ashtray. Unlike me, Chuck grabbed the gun the knife and the phones and put them in the bag. On his way out he wiped every knob, every light switch and anything else he touched. He called and let me know he was on his way.
During his ride to the airport, he rid himself of all the evidence. He stopped at an abandoned apartment building and burned everything in the bag. With that the building burned too. He took the phones apart and trashed them in a dumpster at a gas station. He threw the gun in the river.
I didn't sleep at all that night. I was sitting on the couch again. KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. "Bestfriend open the door." I was so happy to see his face. That instantly changed though. "Chuck who the fuck is this? You are the last person I would have expected to turn on me!" There was a tall, blue eyed, blond haired, suited up white man standing there with Chuck. "Are you turning me in?"
"I'm not going. Y'all gone have to kill me cause I'm not going!" I was pasting. "Shut up." said the stranger in the doorway. "Sit down." He continued. He was two seconds from being smacked. "I'm not ya damn child, you ain't gotta talk to me like that." I sat down. "Why would I turn you in man. You know my past, I don't fuck with police man." I could tell by the tone of his voice, Chuck was pissed with me. "This is the damn lawyer!" He sat in the chair in the corner of the living room with his arms folded. "I'm sorry bestfriend. I panicked." He nodded his head. "Mhm.."
"My name is Nathan Spawn. Number one..." "Criminal Defense lawyer in Georgia." I finished his introduction. "I've read about you in the papers a few times, I planned to have higher rankings when I finished school." I was studying criminal justice and this was my fourth year. "You still have a shot. Here's what's going to happen." I went off into a daze for a moment. "Okay I'm listening."
I was so amazed at his research and his plan. He noticed things I didn't even think about. He let me know that the condominiums had no proof I was there. "The surveillance system has been down for almost a year. They have no lead to you. All they know is someone blamed you. But we're going to make it fall on them." He had a look of excitement in his eyes. It creped me out. "So you know who it is?" Chuck and I jumped from our seats. "Your boyfriend has a baby's momma." You could tell from the way he said those words, that white man had no black friends. "And.... Who is she?" Chuck and I said. "The woman you killed?" I nodded. "It's her sister." "So that's just a family full of dusty bitches huh?" Chuck kicked at the air and shushed me.
Nathan told us he had changed the sister's doctors appointment. He hired someone to draw her blood and drop it to a local police station in Chicago. The results would show that they were related. Then it would look as if she blamed me to cover for herself. She was going to go down for killing her backstabbing sister. Even though she didn't know her sister was screwing "her man", I felt good because she knew about me.
Nathan left and said he'd be back the next morning after the blood was delivered. "What now?" I was looking to Chuck for some guidance. Usually it was me giving advice. "We sleep." He reached out for my hand and lead me to the back room. He tucked me in with satin sheets and soft pillows. Before he walked out he looked me in my eyes for a moment. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. My emotions changed in that very moment.
I couldn't sleep in that bed alone. It felt so empty. I thought I was sinking laying there beside my shadow. I walked back into the living room and there he was. The only man who loved me, watching our favorite movie, "Love and Basketball". I walked to the couch and sat next to him. After a few minutes I needed to be held again. I crawled into his lap like a baby, he wrapped his arms around me. On his shoulder laid my head. Peacefully I slept through the night.

#Part5
The next morning in Chicago, Lia the snitch was waiting on her name to be called. She had received an email from "her doctor" stating he would be out and his assistant nurse will tale care of her. Being that Lia has never met the assistant nurse she didn't know who or what to look for.
"Lia Mills?" The nurse called from the door leading to the back. Lia stood up and wobbled over to the door. "Room seven." The nurse said directing Lia down the hall. "I wonder if this a male nurse, mama might have found your new daddy girl!" She laughed while rubbing her belly. "Ms. Mills? Are you ready to have your blood drawn?" A tall, buff, white, male nurse entered the room. "Blood drawn!?" Lia was puzzled. "Dr. Hines didn't send you the email?" The nurse responded as he prepared to insert the needle. "He did but I guess he forgot to mention that par... Ouch!" The nurse had already stuck the needle in her arm. As Lia watches her blood flow into the needle she thought she should take her chance.
Lia flirted with the nurse and she thought she was reeling him in. While he recognized she was flirting he thought he'd have a little fun on the job. He gave her a fake cell number and told her they could go out soon. After he finished the blood drawing he gave Lia a bandage and told her she could get her paperwork from the desk.
The nurse waited until Lia left the desk and he walked out right behind her. While waiting on the elevator a woman walks out of the bathroom. "Rick? Was I your last appointment?" Lia asked. "For today yes. Dr. Hines will be back in a few hours." Rick replied. They proceeded on to the elevator and levels down. Rick got off at floor 3 and took the stairs hoping he wouldn't see her in the parking lot. Luckily he didn't. Rick got into his car and drove off to the police station.
He walked into the station and placed a package on the desk with a note that said "EVIDENCE ON MILLS, AND JOHNSON CASE." Without any questions the officer opened the package. Inside was a sample of blood and a cellphone. "There are pictures in that phone that you'd like to see." Rick swiped Lia's phone while he drew blood. He was positive that Lia and Sean had taken pictures together. He walked out of the police station and immediately called Nathan. "Hello?" "It's done." Nathan called to give me and chuck the message. "Stay tuned in on the news. Let's see how this story changes." Nathan said. And so we waited.

"Broadcasting live in front of Chicago Police Department. It appears that a lead to the murderer of Delano Johnson and Olivia Mills had been discovered. An anonymous citizen gave huge evidence to an officer early this morning." The television in Lia's room was muted and she heard nothing. Being pregnant she probably wouldn't have waken up anyway. Me and Chuck however, heard that loud and clear and we were glad about it. Our plan was working just like Nathan said it would. We changed our identities that morning. Chuck did it just to be on the safe side. It was going to take some getting used to though. If we wanted to keep our lives a secret we had to do this the right way.
We went back to our apartment and planned our next move. "They're still going to ask me to come to court soon. I'm almost positive they've been watching my house and there has been no movement there." I became nervous. "Oh there's been movement." Chuck was so sure of his response. "How?" His response irritated me. "Nathan hired a house sitter. She doesn't leave the house unless she is incognito. They think it's you." I was flabbergasted. "Why is that the only information Nathan didn't share with me?" Pausing to see if I really wanted an answer Chuck looked at me. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. "Speak of the devil. I need answers and I need them right now!" I opened the door and there he was, a man I've never met before, holding a gun at me.
Chuck stood up and reached behind the Flat screen off the wall. "Man what the fuck is you here for?!" Chuck knew this man and there I was standing in the crossfire. "Chuck who is this?" I looked him in his eyes and he said nothing. "Man who is Chuck?" The man in the door was obviously confused. "Aye you know why I'm here and you know what happens if I don't get it." Whatever it was, this man wasn't playing. "Do what you gone do! Nigga I know you ain't cut fr." GUNSHOTS. Blood splattered on the wall. What now? Well I can't tell a story if I'm dead.
