Harper's POV

I woke up to my phone ringing loudly and I groaned.

"It's too early." I whined to myself.

With my eyes closed, I felt around my nightstand for my phone and answered it.

"Hello?" I said groggily.

"Harper Ray Townsend, why haven't you called me?!?" my mother's voice boomed through my phone.

I looked at the time on my phone and realized it was almost 3:22 p.m. We're 6 hours ahead of Texas so it's probably somewhere close to 9:30 a.m. there. What the f*ck is she doing awake at 9:30 in the morning?!?

"Answer me." Mom demanded.

"I forgot, okay? I'm sorry!" I apologized.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, young lady. Your father and I were worried sick about you! You promised to call me when you got off the plane and that was four days ago!" she literally yelled.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I've been kind of busy lately." I said, rolling my eyes.

"And what is so important that you had to miss calling your own worried mother?" she questioned.

"I was shopping for groceries."

"For four days?"

"I did other stuff too," I said. "Mom, I'm 18 years old so you can stop worrying about me. I'm sorry I didn't call you. I'm sorry I left you worried. I'm sorry I'm literally across the world and can't apologize to you in person. And I'm sorry for trying to live my life without you breathing down my back."

"Don't talk to me like that, young lady." she warned. "You may be 18 but you're still a child--my child that I need to look out for."

"Okay Mom, you don't need to lecture me." I snapped. "Listen, I gotta go, but I promise I'll call you later."

"We're not done with this conver--" I immediately hung up the phone, cutting her off.

I know I'll get in trouble by hanging up but I could really care less. I'm across the world from her so it's not like she can ground me or anything.

I got out of my warm covers and stepped on the floor to be welcomed by its coldness on my bare feet. I quickly ran across my room, grabbed my laptop, and got back under my covers. It took a minute or two for my laptop to turn on and when it did, I logged into Twitter.

I scrolled through all the tweets from everyone I was following and I passed a few from the 1D boys. They were pretty much just saying how much fun they had last night and how they have the best fans. I probably read Harry's tweet 10 times.

@Harry_Styles: 140 characters isn't enough for me to describe how much I love you guys. Listen to More Than This right now and it pretty much sums up how I feel :D

I'm such a creep for reading that stupidly simple tweet a billion times. Even though we're friends with 1D now, I still can't help but be a fangirl. They're everything I imagined them to be and more!

To be honest, Charlie and I liked One Direction but we weren't, like, obsessed or anything. We don't have any merch, we only have their first album, and we don't fangirl over them every second of the day. Alyson on the other hand, well, she's the ideal Directioner.

She has the same One Directon t-shirt in every color there was, she has their first two albums and is planning on buying the third when it comes out, and she spends her free time watching their video diaries over and over again.

The videos are definitely funny and I don't mind watching them on repeat, but Alyson could probably watch nothing else but that for the rest of her life.
