***After Class***
"We'll wait for you by the front gates Lu." Levy said walking out of the classroom. The three girls waved to each other. Lucy tentatively walked up to my desk.
"You wanted to see me Mr. Dragneel?" Lucy asked quietly.
"Miss Heartfilia, the book you referred to, may I ask what it is called?" I asked calmly.
"Oh uhm, it's a book my mother gave me when I was young. It's not likely that you've heard of it." She replied nervously.
"What's it called, maybe I have?" I asked still trying to remain calm.
"The Princess and the Dragon, it's been my favorite story since I was child" She answered quietly.
"Oh, and has anyone aside from yourself read this book?" I ask looking her in the eyes.
"Just my mom, Levy, and I. She answered nervously.
"What is the authors name?" I ask trying to hold back a smirk.
"I wish I knew, to be honest I've forgotten his name. He used to play with me after he was done being tutored by my mom. He was very nice, and quite silly." She answered giggling. That's right, there was a little girl at the Heartfilia mansion. I'd just assumed she was another student. Is she really that little girl? My how she has grown.
"Uh Mr. Dragneel, I need to go my ride is here. Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?" She asks still nervous.
"Yes I need your number for this weekend, so I can contact you in case the meet time and place changes." I say slyly. oh hell yeah I'm about to get her number. Being a teacher has its perks.
"O-okay here is my phone enter your number then I'll send you a text." She smiled nervously. I grabbed her phone and entered my number. I of course put my name as something that would catch her attention. Plus I would hate for anyone to get ahold of her phone and find out my number, or that we are talking.
She takes her phone back and looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "DragonKing?"
"Yep. I'd hate for anyone to find your phone, see my name and take my number from you. I don't want any other girls to have my number." I reply bluntly. I see her blush lightly and I smirk.
"Now run along Luce, before your ride leaves." She looks at me with a confused look, then smiles and runs out the door leaving me to my thoughts. I close my eyes and sigh, putting my hands behind my head.
So after all these years you've made your way back into my life, this is going to be one hell of an adventure. I think smirking to myself.
"Oi FlameBrain, who was the hot blonde?" I hear Gray ask.
"Huh, oh you mean the student that just left? That would be Lucy Heartfilia I believe" I reply nonchalantly without opening my eyes.
"Damn that was a student?" He asks in shock.
"Yep, she's one of the three girls who I have in my last class." I reply nonchalantly again.
"Well what was she doing here after the bell?" He asked.
"You remember that book I wrote about the princess that falls in love with the dragon?" I ask looking down at my desk.
"Yeah, the one that got your entire grade up to an A, you bragged about it for weeks before accidentally burning the only copy." Gray answered quickly laughing.
"Yes well, I instructed those three students to write a poem inspired by their favorite book and this is what Miss Heartfilia wrote." I said handing him her poem, finally looking up at him. He looks at me with wide eyes.
"How is this even possible?" He asks quickly.
"You remember that English teacher that was always yelling at me, the one everyone had a crush on?"
"Yeah...what about her?" He responds.
"And how she forced me to go to her house for tutoring sessions."
"Yeah..." he trailed off.
"Well apparently the little girl I used to play with afterwards while waiting for Zeref, is none other than the student that just ran out and her mother was Layla Heartfilia, our English teacher. She liked my story so much she gave a copy to her daughter who has kept it to this day." I finished.
"Damn! Talk about a small world, especially considering the Heartfilia's are the richest family in Fiore. What is an heiress like her doing in our piss ant school anyways? He asked.
"She said she misses her mom, so I guess maybe she thinks going here will bring her closer? I reply.
"Wait doesn't that mean that Luke Heartfilia is her brother?" Gray asked with a smirk.
"Yes." I groaned.
"Oh man, he is going to kill you if you try anything on his little sister." Gray laughed.
"Oi Ice Freak! Flame Breath! Let's go I'm starving!" Gajeel shouts from the doorway. I grab my jacket and my briefcase then walk out the door.
"Wait until you hear about how Natsu's little crush has come back to haunt him Gajeel!" Gray shouts.
"Whatever walk and talk!" Gajeel shouts back.
