"Full moon tonight." I sighed as I walked to school with the girls.
"What are you worried about? You just stick with Dalton and you're good. With us, we see moonlight and anything can happen." Diana had a worried look on her face.
"True, but we don't know how close we have to be for it to work. We don't really want to find out."
"We're coming over to your house tonight, right?" Max double checked.
I nodded. "My mom is getting everything set up while we're at school. All you guys have to bring is your stuff for a normal sleepover."
"How do you guys do full moons on land?" Maddy asked.
"We stay at someone's house and block out all moonlight. From now on, we're going to stay at my house since everyone in my family knows. We basically just avoid moonlight."
"Really? Out at sea, full moons are celebrated. There's a big ceremony and everything. It's really cool."
"I'm sure that's fun, but we have to deal with the moon spell. We'd rather not do crazy things," Sarah butted in.
"Yeah. I guess I'll hang with you guys tonight."
"If you want to celebrate the full moon with my mom, you're welcome to. I'm sure she'll be celebrating and she'd love to have you there. Enjoy it the way you were taught to."
"But what if something happens to one of you guys? I want to be here to help."
"We'll be fine. If we need you, we'll mind message you and my mom. Have fun tonight."
"Are you sure that you don't want me there to help out?"
"I'm positive. We'll have the guys and my parents, we'll be fine."
She sighed. "Okay. I'll be back bright and early tomorrow, okay?"
"Wouldn't expect anything else." I smiled at her.
We continued walking to school and talking about how the full moon was going to work tonight.
Once we got on campus, we met up with the guys.
"Hey. Ready for tonight?" Dalton asked.
"Yep. My mom is setting everything up as we speak. I hope it'll be enough."
"Me too. I don't fell like going crazy tonight."
"What is with you two? Just stick together and you'll be fine. We're the ones who have to worry. If we see moonlight, anything could happen," Max interjected.
"We could get separated. Plus, we don't know if it will actually work and we don't want to test it out. We have to be just as careful as you do."
"I guess that's true, but the chances that you guys get separated or that it doesn't work are slim. You'll be fine."
"We'll still lock ourselves up with you guys. We don't want to take any chances."
"Do you guys still want us to help out?" Cameron asked.
"Of course. The more help we have, the better. My parents won't mind. They're actually expecting your help."
"Cool. The moon rises at 9:15. We're meeting at Alyssa's house at eight to get ready and make sure all merpeople are locked up when the moon rises. Us land people will stay with them and just hang out as usual and sleep in a separate room from the girls and Dalton. Everybody got that?" Cameron clarified.
"Wait, why is Dalton staying with the girls?" Alex asked.
"Because Alyssa and I have to stay close to make sure that neither of us go nuts. If we separate, the second we see the full moon, we'll go under the moon spell. We'd rather not do something crazy."
