Anzu was no fool. She'd noticed how different the atmosphere at the school had become. It was warmer, somehow, than usual. That one girl with the red hair was on the run, and Anzu had spotted that girl's cousin searching for her in fear. He'd asked Anzu where she was, explaining he needed to make sure she was staying out of trouble. The young, pink haired girl saw different.
He wanted to know where she was hiding, so that he could avoid the displays of PDA as well. Anzu found it funny, really. But she was busy, and told him she didn't know, before she ran off to her dorm. Oh yes, the thirteen year old had plans, surely. For this Christmas, she decided on what she believed to be her best plan yet. She had no senpai, but this would be the time to change that. In her dorm room, lay the objects of her trade. A sewing machine, various fabrics and needles, designs and books on how to do certain designs, scissors... Everything she needed. She grabbed a bag of fluffy fabrics and some stuffing, and went to work. Finishing this years magnum opus.
Leaving her dorm a few hours later, she was prepared. Dress on, mistletoe in hand, she set out. She was running around the campus, hanging mistletoe everywhere she could, in her odd little Christmas dress. In her odd little stalkings, she hung a mistletoe there, and saluted some students that were already seeing the affect of her antics. They were stuck under one of the ornaments, and Anzu snickered as she ran by. Sure, she wasn't the only person hanging them. But she had a few to hang, still, and she had to hope she could find her senpai with these Christmas death traps. This sickness that had overcome the school... If Anzu didn't get infected with it, surely she would have a terrible Christmas! No one to cuddle with, no one to hug and hold onto dearly...
She was a dreamer, honestly, and could only hope this would pay off. She didn't even notice she'd lost her odd little hat, until after she hung the last mistletoe she'd brought. Anzu gasped, grasping at her head, finding the felt and fabric hat gone. She searched everywhere, already tired legs from all the running even more tired in her search for the lost hat. It wasn't in that classroom, not by the fountain, and not in the trash cans.
Finally, she collapsed onto a bench. How could she have lost her hat? She'd made that part of the costume first, and by far it was her favorite part. It had bells on it, some small, and one large one at the tip. It made a jingle as she ran, and she simply adored it. It matched her dress so well too! She sniffled, not only from the cold but from udder defeat at the fact she'd lost her hat. She rested her head in her hands, not even realizing a key fact.
The slight jingle of a bell.
Her head shot up, and she looked up to see another student standing next to her. An older one, and one she hadn't seen before to boot. They had her hat on their head, and to Anzu, they looked like an angel. Beautiful face, and a beautiful smile... She felt like she might faint. Was this lovely student returning her hat? She gasped, standing up and clasping her hands in front of her face, feeling like she might cry. Her beloved hat!
"Thank you so much--" She squealed, before freezing in her spot. The other student had leaned forward, placing a kiss to her forehead, before taking off the hat and handing it back to her. Anzu was frozen in place, eyes wide and mouth open in shock. Her cheeks heated up, and the other student chuckled softly at her reaction.
"Be careful with your stuff, little miss Mistletoe," They said, before turning and walking away. Anzu was stuck in place, before she looked up, seeing one of her very own mistletoe above her head. She gasped, before putting the hat on and squealing. The sickness. There it was. She was in love, surely. A senpai had come and returned her hat to her, departing with a charming kiss to her head. How romantic, thought Anzu, before a thought struck her.
She had no clue who that student even was. Not a name, not anything about them.
Surely, this would not deter little miss Mistletoe. Oh no. She'd find her senpai, and when she did...
They would be hers.
