Scars, a Skylox story. With a little Merome

Deadlox

  I blushed as Sky grabbed me, pulling me right against him.

  "Ty, be careful." He muttered, and I quickly nodded and pulled back, going into the mine. Why would he say that? We were going to be together here, right?

  "Where are we going to mine now?" Sky looked around, then nodded to a dark tunnel, which I let him start down. I followed.

  We placed torches down as we went, and I was calmed by the distant sound of rain, I kept close to Sky, though. I didn't like the idea of being ambushed by some creature down here. When I got scared I didn't run, I just tensed up. It was a freeze response instead of fight or flight.

  We soon found a vein of iron and I began to mine it. I stepped to one side, beginning to mine below me, just as Sky opened his mouth.

  "Ty don't dig-" I didn't hear the rest, my shriek cutting him off. There had been an open cave right below me. I felt my head hit a rock, and I blacked out just as I hit the bottom.

  I groaned and opened my eyes to see Sky standing over me, just watching. I reached up towards him, trying to grab him. Trying to get him to actually notice me.

  "Hnn... Sky? I'm cold..." I muttered, wrapping my arms around myself, since he hasn't moved to pick me up. He didn't reply, and I looked back up at him. I noticed he had taken his sunglasses off, and he was looking lower than my head. My blood ran cold.

  "Ty..." He said. It sounded like he was yelling from far away. Then his voice was closer. "You're hideous..." I winced and followed his gaze. My shirt had ripped off, and he was staring at what I tried so hard to hide.

  Why would Adam do this? I thought, biting my lip, he's never cared about looks and we've been best friends forever. I tried to hide it, like it would make Sky forget what he'd seen.

  "Sky I'm sorry!" I gasped, reaching up towards him, but he stood and turned away. "Sky?" He walked toward the entrance of the cave. My eyes widened and I tried to struggle up, but only managed to roll over. Pain shot through me and I whimpered softly.

  I took a deep breath, getting ready to scream for him again. My voice rose, sounding shrill like a girl's, and it cracked slightly.

   "SKY!?"
