Merry Christmas boys and girls and other genders!

----

Three days had passed since Rei lost his memory and Yang wasn't taking it very well. She'd already gone through depression when she'd lost her arm, but now was a totally different situation. It was worse, the way she acted. Short temper, quick to activate her semblance even against her own family.

At nights, she would stay by Rei's side in the small guest room in Tai's house. He'd lost consciousness after uttering the words that destroyed her mind. The doctors had said that it was a self induced coma, but they couldn't be sure. She would hold his hand until sleep eventually took over her, some nights she skipped dinner. The result was prominent, as she was beginning to lose weight.

"Yang." A familiar female voice said behind her one night. She didn't even bother to turn around.

"What, Raven?" Yang asked, almost immediately angered.

"Why do you respond with such hostility towards your mother? I am merely here to check on you." Raven replied, putting a hand on her shoulder. Yang shook her off.

"Then you'll leave again?" She asked in an accusing manner. Raven was silent in response, her red eyes merely watching  her daughter. She noticed that she could easily count her daughter's ribs now, a sure sign of starvation.

"Are you not eating, Yang?" Raven asked quietly. Yang copied her mother's previous actions and remained quiet.

"I see." Raven's eyes suddenly darted towards the unconscious male.

"I wonder.... What would he say if he saw you like this." Raven suddenly turned around, pouring a cup of steaming hot tea for her and her daughter.

"Don't." Yang said, a provoked tone in her voice

"Don't what?" Raven asked, setting the first cup of tea down.

"Don't use him against me." Yang said, taking in a deep breath before sighing to herself.

"I won't if you promise to eat more." Raven replied. Given that her eyes were focusing on the teacup in her hand and that Yang was glaring daggers at her back it was easy for the two of them to miss the movement made from the bed.

"What are you two talking about? And who are the two of you?" Rei asked as he sat up.

---
"He's.... Different." Yang said, her hair still in a mess. She watched Rei from afar as he struck out at Tai, an old duel being held between the two.

"Maybe so, but at least he's out of the coma." Raven replied, nodding her head in response Yang's statement.

"You must have loved him very much." Raven replied, glancing at her young daughter. She saw the small gulp she took before she nodded. Raven turned around, walking back to the house.

"Hey Mom?" Yang called, not turning around.

"Yes?" Raven replied, delighted that Yang had just called her "Mom".

"How did you deal with Dad when the two of you....." Yang led off, not willing to finish the sentence.

"It was quite simple, actually. I merely stopped loving him."

---

Rei sat down, exhausted from their duel.

"Not bad. You've gotten better." Tai said, laughing as he held his hand out to him. Rei denied the hand before turning onto his side. Yang had turned around and was walking back to the house, revealing her backside to Rei.
