Kate went to visit a workmate Leah, who she
became close with from Lusaka branch. She was
familiar with Livingstone as she had been there for
a year.
Leah was equally single but she was younger than
Kate by a year, for Leah married men were her
rescue and she had plenty of them. It was always
like that, she had a serious man before but because
she was materialistic the man left for a younger
lady that he married leaving Leah entangled in the
married men web.
Hi love, what have you been upto? Kate said as she
entered Leahs house.
Leah was renting a 3bedroomed flat, her house had
all you could dream of as a young lady but all were
from married men. She was Kates junior at work but
if you didnt know better you would think she was
Kates boss.
Nothing love been sleeping all day was hoping
hubby would come and take me to the falls but
seems like the wife is tight today.
But its fine last night he deposited K5000 into my
account so maybe i will do some shopping... Leah
said with a smile.
Kate had a totally different approach towards life.
Although finding the perfect match wasnt easy she
just never thought of recking anyones home for the
sake of companionship.
Well i see, kate responded.
Anyway i just came over to say hai, am coming
from Nandos wanted to spoil myself alittle you
know.... Kate said with a smile.
Well i dont know what kind of spoiling exists when
you are all alone... Leah teased.
Kate and leah watched a movie together before she
started off to go to her apartment.
As soon as she got comfortable in the living room
she received a call from Eric.
Eric: Hi how are you?
Kate: am good thanx,
Eric: ok so i just started off from Livingstone.. Will
keep in touch so you can tell me more about you..
Kate: ok ...
So eric made his first call and now Kate was having
the pressure already. You see if you have been
waiting for so long it gets to a point where you
keep wondering if the one who talks to you is the
ONE.
Kate and Eric exchanged messages for sometime
before he lost network on the way and they called it
a night.
Mondays at Jolopea innovations had a number of
meetings, kate had to address a lot of people and
make a number of presentations to her bosses
before reviewing audit reports from the previous
week.
Eric got in touch around mid day but Kate was busy
so they agreed to communicate later in the day.
After work Kate normally passed through a nearby
restaurant where she would watch and listen to
some Karaoke from various people, she sung aittle
but usually just went to watch. That particular day
she just decided to go home because she was tired
and was anticipating Eric's call so she went straight
home.
Eric did not call and when she sent him a message
he did not respond , she automatically concluded he
was probably married as was the trend with most
men she met.
August 24th,
Dear Diary, work was rather hectic today as
compared to other mondays. I didnt get the chance
to talk to my new friend who i met yesterday. His
name is Eric and he is very fine. He was very
friendly but we did not get into a serious
conversation so i cant say anything much. He did
not respond to my message this evening so i
suspect his married. I am not even at the point
where i can pull out my list, anway whatever the
case.... We keep moving. Much love...kate.
Yes believe it or not Kate had a list, on that list she
wrote down what she was looking for in a man.
Kate had made adjustments to that list every year
on her birthday. This coming birthday she did not
see herself changing anything else because
otherwise it would no longer be in line with what
God wanted for her or atleast what she thought God
wanted for.
KATE'S LIST FOR BOAZ.
1. A man who is God fearing or atleast willing to
know Christ and walk in his ways.
2. A man who is stable or atleast exhibits potential
to run a home and take care of financial problems
as the head of the union. That means he must be
goal oriented.
3. A man that is loving and understanding, who is
able to not only be a lover but a friend aswell.
4. A man who is loyal and true to the union, one
who does not cheat, lie or betray in any kind.
5. A man who is ready to settle and start a family
as well as ready to raise children in a christian
background.
6. Does not smoke or drink or atleast a moderate
drinker but no smoking at all.
7. A patient man, one who exhibits self control even
when he is angry and does not lose his temper.
8. A thoughtful man who pays attention to detail
and makes a lot of effort in remembering birthdays
and special events such as anniversary and
valentines day.
9. A man that can love and embrace my family and
background as well as i appreciate and embrace
his.
10. A man that will encourage me, push me to go
further and walk with me to the top.
11. His looks must be appealing.
However, for 4years this man was still missing or
atleast God was still moulding him specifically for
Kate.
