We were in hot persuit of the fire starter, chopping down trees and branches to get through. Sitting, alone, in a big clearing were the girls from 3, 9, and 10. I pulled back an arrow, James got a spear ready, and Glenn held a trident. Amanda made a 3 with her fingers, than a 2, than a 1, we all let go at the same time, and they all died at the same time, making an earsplitting BOOM! I'm sure the other tributes are scared now, we kept moving so the hovercraft wouldn't suck us up as well. The air wasn't as humid as it was in the jungle, but it was still humid. There was a river, I motioned to stop so I could get a drink and fill the bottle. The water was cold and refreshing, so was resting for a little bit.

After a while, we went on hiking through the many trees. The trees were dense, everywhere, and huge, making it diffucult to see. We could tell the sun was starting to set, and we set up camp. As Amanda and Glenn went to catch some fish, I didn't realise how hungry I was since we didn't eat lunch. After a few minutes, they each came back with a few fish in each hand. They cleaned and prepared them for us to eat. I took a bite, as the flavor exploded, I sighed in relief. The others laughed, I laughed, but put my head on James' shoulder. Amanda shifted, and my water bottle tipped over, spilling the water inside. I grabbed for it so I could go refill it, was about to go, when Jake spoke up,

"She shouldn't go alone, it's getting darker by the minute." James nodded and pushed him to follow me. The river water was freezing now, so cold I couldn't keep my hands in it for more than a minute. I stood up, and a pair of hands fastened around my neck.

"James, Amanda, Glenn!" I managed to choke out before Jake's hold tightend. I heard the shuffle of feet as James, Amanda, and Glenn came running. The world seemed to be spinning and the edges of my vision were turning fuzzy and black. I couldn't take in any air and the others were still about a minute away. Jake loosened his grip, just to readjust it but that gave me enough time to take a quick breath. The breath was not enough to keep me alive another thirty seconds, until the others arrived. The black was edging towards the center of my vision and more and more was getting blurry. James burst through the trees, Amanda and Glenn right behind him. He sprang into action, not caring about Jake. Jake was pried off my by Glenn, and I just had time to watch Amanda throw a trident through his chest before I collapsed. And the whole world went black.

I was back in District 12, my mother was talking to Amelia. I could just overhear what they were saying.

"Why do you think Julia voulnteered for Cynthia?" my mom asked.

"Because she loooooves him," Amelia giggled. Jason walked in the door with a fresh squirrel in his hand. Amelia burst into a fit of giggles, earning an odd look from Jason. The scene changed, I was standing off to the side, watching Jake try to choke me to death. James, and the others just saved my life, if they had been any later, I would have died.

James' face swarmed into focus as my eyes fluttered open.

"Guys, she's up!" he yelled. I tried to sit up but was meeted by a fierce headache and a wave of nausea. James gave me some water to drink, it was still cold. The water made me feel stronger, so I pushed myself up a little bit.

"How long was I out, and who is dead?" I asked.

"Lucas, Cara, Jake, Ruby, the boy and girl from 3, both from 5, both from 6, both from 7, the girl from 9, and the girl from 10. You were out for a few hours," James replied, counting each person off on his fingers. I pushed myself into a sitting position, but was greeted by another wave of nausea. I pushed it aside and took another swig of water. James was taking such good care of me, I don't know how I would kill him. Maybe I would kill Amanda instead. I looked around, still a little light, I ate a little something, but I needed actual sleep. I climbed into James' sleeping bag and cuddled up next to him.

Chirping birds and annoying birds. Very much different. I kissed James' forehead to wake him, Glenn was making something that smelled amazing. Amanda was helping. Amanda motioned for me to follow her, I did but grabbed my bow, some arrows, and a knife first. She led me to a secluded area, about 1 minute away from camp. She came closer and her hands closed around my neck. I was ready for it this time. I plunged a knife into her side, and called for James and Glenn. I was about to shoot an arrow when the others arrived. The arrow took flight and entered Amanda's chest. James and Glenn stared at me in awe.
