Ethan gave a small smile, shaking his head at them both, "You two are crazy,"
Luke rolls his eyes at his younger sibling, loosening his grip in his fists. The silence was peaceful yet, unbearable. Olivia had been bored in a matter of minutes complaint after complaint of how it smelt and looked.
"Ugh... It's cold down here.." Olivia shivered, her thin jacket not being enough to keep her frail body warm. Luke's head had shot up at this comment and had removed his green oversized coat, his arms held out as he offered it to Olivia, "Are you sure? I mean, I am cold but you'll be even colder with no cost at all.." Olivia asked, concern lazing her voice.
Luke shook his head in response, confirming with her that he will fine, "Love birds, I know it's such a romantic setting in a sewer system but there is a exit up ahead," Ethan informed with a sly grin, pointing up ahead where a long line of ladders worked there way up to another grid up above.
Olivia grasped Luke's coat with a warm smile, slipping on his coat delicately, composing herself before leaning forward and handing Ethan a light slap on his forehead, "Okay, Luke can go up there since the officers have seen his face so they know who they are looking for," He says to which Luke nodded at, "So I'll go up and take a peak, I'll see if it's safe to go up,"
While Olivia nodded; Luke stared in disapproval, " I don't like you going up there, they could be waiting up here," He argued.
"So exactly why I should go up, don't worry, I'll be fine. I promise," Luke gave him a small nod, watching as he began to climb the ladder quickly in curiosity.
Olivia scrambled up behind him, keep a distance as she watched him lift the grid slowly, leaving Luke in anticipation.
"All clear!" Ethan called down with smile; crawling above the surface before helping Olivia up also. Luke nodded, throwing the last bag that was left upon the floor over his shoulder, following the two, his eyes gazing around the vanishing environment as he did so. Turning upwards a tan hand was spread out in front of his face. Ethan.
"Come on, we havn't got all day!" He laughed, grasping the arm of his older brother. Luke allowed himself to be hauled above the surface, his eyes squinting at the new light of the sun. Olivia had already run ahead in the direction of a gas station, sand kicking up behind her as she ran forward. Ethan sprinted after her, following the path she had took. Luke sighed, pulling at the sleeves of his white shirt before following after them both.
Ethan and Olivia stopped infront the beaten up gas station that stood before her, her eyes taking in the deserted building. Ethan, on the other hand, turned to look at his brother who had just arrived in a slow walk, "Have you still got that gun Luke?" Ethan asked, tilting his head as he said so.
The brunette thought for a moment before taking ahold of the bag Ethan had held, unzipping it carefully, pointing his finger at the gun burried beneath the money and jewelery. Ethan nodded with his everyday smile plastered on his face, zipping the bag up in attempt to hide the contents. As the siblings tilted the heads upward, Olivia was already walkling ahead, her hand motioning them to follow. Luke didn't think twice, ushering after the red head in a slow run.
Ethan laughed at his love struck brother and ran after them both; soon the three of them stopped and investigated the scene quietly before stepping inside, Ethan closing the door behind them all.
Small rows stacked with food, drinks and magazines stood amongst the center, a small television resting upon an empty shelf near the counter. The middle aged man had his eyes fixed on the screen, not interested in the three teens that had entered. The man's skin was grey looking and wrinkled; a red baseball cap resting atop of his partially bald scalp. The trio had their eyes on the screen also, the news channel blaring with a breaking news update.
"Two police officers are now pronounced dead after being caught in a shooting as a male teenager, who has not yet been identified, shot them both. More information is yet to be released," The woman spoke, reading in disbelief at the sheet in her hands.
Olivia gasped dramatically, " That's so awful!" She lied, turning her attention to the man behind the counter.
He nodded in response, allowing his eyes to be taken from the television screen, "People these days.. It's unnatural," He muttered, lighting a cigarette that he had fished from his coat pocket.
Ethan had already walked off by this point, his childish instincts drawing him towards the sweets and fizzy drinks. Luke rolled his eyes; following Olivia as she weaved her way into the isle filled with water and healthy snacks.
"We need a plan, we don't have a clue where we are going and how we are going to get there," Luke whispered, his head popping up to look at Ethan. Olivia snatched up a bottle of water, her face displaying confusion.
"This dude is sure to have a ride.. He couldn't have walked all the way out into the heap of crap," Oliva suggested, glancing outside cautiously. Her hand slipped into the back pocket of her jeans, pulling out some change to most likely use on the water.
Ethan had eventually returned, his arms filled with packed of sweets. Luke's eyes narrowed at him, and then at the sweets, "Ethan, you shouldn't be getting that, they're bad for you. Make your teeth rot," He pointed out, a light punch being earned a small punch on the shoulder from Olivia.
"Oh leave him alone, he's only young once Luke," Olivia joked, walking towards the counter, placing the water upon the surface where the man was leaning, the change of copper next to it.
