"Everyone has someone in their life that keeps them looking forward to another day."
Chapter 3
I walk into art class and slump into a seat. I'm tired and it's only third period. I sigh and suddenly feel the presence of someone take the seat next to me.
"Hey." Zayn says with a small smile. "Oh, hi Zayn." I greet him. The bell rings as most of the kids in class are seated now.
"Okay, good morning class. I want you all to just sketch what you're feeling. Anything. I don't mind. You can even count this as sort of a relaxing day. Draw whatever you feel." Ms. Hall tells the class with a smile. She passes out pieces of regular paper to everyone in the class.
I smile too. I'm happy we get to draw whatever we want. All these regular art assignments are sort of...tacky to me. I guess that's just my style, though. She sits at her desk and types away on her MacBook.
"How are you?" Zayn asks, starting to draw something that I can't quite identify. "I'm okay, how are you?" I ask in reply. He shrugs. "I've been better. I'm just really tired."
"Tired of what? School? Or just tired in general?" I wonder out loud. "Tired of me and my girlfriend always fighting." he sighs and I am surprised. "You have a girlfriend?" I ask him. "Yeah, her name's Melissa. You might know her." he answers.
I don't know any Melissa's but I am surprised that Zayn has a girlfriend. I mean, not really surprised, he's very handsome, but I guess since he never told me or the idea never came to mind, it just took me by surprise.
"She's so cute, gorgeous actually, but our relationship is going over a bumpy road right now. Maybe even hitting a brick wall." Zayn says sadly. I nudge his arm with my elbow. "It's gonna be alright." I assure him with a smile.
I draw small hearts and big hearts on the paper. Then I draw skulls and more hearts. I draw some skulls inside the hearts. I guess they are representing the bad inside good? I'll go with that. I feel Zayn looking at either me or my paper, I can't tell.
I stop drawing and get my water bottle out of my backpack. Zayn goes back to drawing on his paper as I take a drink. "So how are you and Harry?" he asks and I almost spit out my water. I swallow it down and barely choke, starting to cough uncontrollably. "Wh-wh-a-at?!" I choke out in between coughs.
He grins slightly. "Oh, I thought you two were together...aren't you?"
"No! We're not..!" I quickly say before coughing more. "Are you okay?" he asks, stifling a chuckle.
I nod and clear my throat one last time as I put my water bottle away and work on my drawing.
"So, what are you drawing?" he asks. "I don't really know," I say, "What are you drawing?" I ask. He smiles and looks down at his paper. "Just whatever my artistic side of the brain desires." he tells me. I smile. "It looks interesting." I comment.

I spot Leo and Harry talking and walk to go see them. They played a fair soccer game and it was nice watching them. Just as I arrive, Harry walks away to his brother's car. "Leo!" I call.
Leo turns and gives a tiny smile. "Hey Bella." he says. "Did you see me? While you were playing, I mean." I ask him, my eyes following Harry.
"I think Harry said something about seeing you, but I didn't." he explains. I nod. "Okay, good job out there though. And tell Harry I said hi." I tell Leo.
"Harry!" Leo yells and I freeze. Well I wasn't expecting that. "No, I meant later!" I exclaim as Harry looks in our direction. Leo points at me and Harry smiles and waves before getting into the car.

It's only Thursday and I cannot wait for the weekend. I'm going to Hailey's house for a small get-together party-ish thing.
I look at Harry from across the classroom.
"Bella?" Ms. Christians calls. I shake my head and look at her. "What?" I say and the class laughs quietly among themselves.
"What do you think about the topic? What's on your paper for this question?" she asks. "Oh, um I didn't get to that one yet..." I mumble. "Okay, but what do you think the answer is, then?" she asks.
I shrug. "I don't know." She gives me somewhat of a judgmental look and moves on to a different student in the class.
I look back over to see that Olivia is staring at me. She looks away after about five seconds and I roll my eyes.
Harry is next to turn around to take a glance at me. He smiles and his dimples show through for it on his cheeks. I try to make an attempt at a serious expression, but I can't help the small smile that takes over my face.
I can never help that little smile that always appears on my face when I see him.
After class, I walk slow, testing if Harry will see me and walk to class with me.
When he doesn't appear by my side, I turn around to see him with Olivia and I swear I feel my blood boil for a second.
I walk farther ahead of them with a little speck of hope that Harry will stop talking to Olivia and catch up with me.
And he never comes.
