"Let me go!" I yelled at my best friend, Emily who was clinging on to me for dear life.
"C'mon Em, It's not like we won't see each other anymore. I'm just going to be living a little farther away."
"A little farther away? You're moving to fucking Bradford, which is like hours from here. You're going to forget about me, and make a new best friend, and I'm just going to be stuck here for the rest of my life alone and die a painfuly sl-".
"Shut up, Emily. You're my only friend for crying out loud. No one will ever be able to get me like you, let alone replace you. I promise I will call as much as I can and Skype when I miss your stupid face." I pulled away from her grasp and stared into her watery eyes, trying not to get emotional myself.
An annoying sound of a car horn could be heard behind us, and I grew aggitated. Couldn't the cab driver understand that I just needed a moment with my best friend before leaving and possibly never seeing her again?
"Arianna sweetie, we are going to be late for our flight, please we need to go." My mother appeared on my side with a sympathetic look as she gave me one last sad smile before she walked away giving Em and I some space.
I wouldn't blame my mom for us having to move to Bradford. Her job transferred her there and she couldn't say no. She did everything she could being a single mom. Always struggling to get us by ever since my father left.
I shuddered as a cloud of painful memories blurred my vision. I was not going to think about that man.
I let out a long and slow sigh and Emily gave me a confused look as I just shook my head to signal that I was fine.
With another quick hug and kiss on the cheek goodbye to Em, I hurled my last suitcase into the taxi that held a very impatient driver, and my mother and I were off.
Here I come Bradford.
