Oka Ruto x Shin Higaku

~Chapter 1~

Third Person POV

Oka entered Akademi high school with shin by her side. Shin had insisted on walking with her to school, Truthfully he just wanted more time with her as he barely saw her throughout the day.

"I've read that book you gave me" Oka spoke up, Her voice was quiet sounding almost like a whisper. "Which one?" Shin replied glancing over at Oka.

"Women in the mist" Oka answered back. The two walked into the school building, Immediately separating as they walked to their locker, Shin and Oka changed into their indoor shoes. They put their outdoor shoes into the locker before shutting it.

Shin began walking back over to Oka who seemed to be staring at something. Shin turned his gaze over to whatever Oka was looking at. It was Taro..Taro Yamada.

Oka felt her face heat up as she stared at her crush from afar not noticing her best friend walking up behind her. Shin tapped Oka on the shoulder which caused her to jump up.

"Why are you staring at Taro?" Shin asked crossing his arms as Oka slowly turned around coming face to face with him. "W-What? I-I wasn't!" Oka stuttered, Her face going even redder.

"Don't lie to me, Oka" Shin warned his best friend. "F-Fine..I was staring at Taro..I-I think I like him" Oka responded, Her voice going quieter.

Shin Higaku's POV

I felt my heart snap in two, She liked Taro..Taro Yamada..OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE SHE COULD LIKE..SHE PICKED THAT IDIOT!?. Oka looked at me weirdly as I hadn't noticed my face had scrunched up in disgust.

"Shin, Are you ok?" Oka asked worryingly. "I'm fine, When did you start liking Taro?" I replied doing my best to not let my anger show. "A month ago..I think" Oka answered looking over at Taro..who was currently walking to the fountain with one of the most annoying girls I've ever met..Osana Najimi.

"I see.." I whispered having a hard time keeping my feelings down, After a while of silence Oka said a quiet bye and walked off probably heading up to the rooftop to spy on the Basu sisters.

I had never really shown interest in her theories as I highly doubt Sakyu Basu is secretly a succubus, Or Inkyu Basu a vampire. Sighing I made my way to the occult club.

The other members Chojo Tekina, Daku Atsu, Kokuma Jutsu and Supana Churu were all sitting in their usual spots reading. I quietly entered the club room and head to the bookcase. I take a book then sit down in my chair, I begin reading but find it difficult to concentrate as images of Oka and Taro together fill my mind.

I grind my teeth imagining the two of them hugging and kissing. Supana shut her book and walked over to me as she had taken notice of my angry facial expression. I looked up at her closing my book. "Shin, What's wrong?" Supana asked, Her one visible eye full of worry and concern.

"Nothing, I'm fine!" I yelled causing Supana to flinch at the sudden loudness. "You clearly aren't, I'm your friend..Please tell me what's wrong" Supana refused to leave me alone.

I sighed knowing she wouldn't let up about this. "Oka likes Taro..Freaking Taro" I mumbled. Supana's eye widened. "Wait..You like Oka?" Supana whispered. I hesitantly nodded.

"Well why don't you tell her? I mean you guys have been friends for so long.." Supana stupidly responded. "Did you hear what I said? She likes Taro" I growled. I know it's not her fault that Oka likes Taro..I just can't help but feel annoyed.

Supana sighed, She was about to say something but was cut off by the bell meaning we had to go to class now. I get up not saying anything else, I put my book back and head to class my hand clenched into a fist.
