Ch 1- (Third Person)

It was a cool and quiet evening. A 10 year old Mitch stood outside his house pointing his bow at every thing he saw. He finally relaxed and shot an arrow at a tree. It skidded off the side of the tree bark and into the bushes. Mitch sighed. He was about to go back to retrieve it when he herd a sound. His eyes went wide. It sounded like a howl of pain from an animal. Then there was a soft whimper. Mitch just stood their, never taking his eyes off of the brush. Then he herd his name. He looked back to the house and ran inside with his bow and quiver of arrows.

--------------------
The sound echoed in his mind all night. He lay there on his bed looking out the window. He glanced at the clock on his wall: 4:30 AM. Mitch sighed and tried to close his eyes. There was a loud yelp from the forest. Mitch stood up fast and listened for the sound again... there was another yelp but followed by a growl. Micah's eyes went wide with excitement.
He grabbed his bow and arrows as well as some raw fish and a few golden apples. Before Mitch ran out the door, he noticed a large ax hanging on the mantle. It was a shiny blue diamond shade. Mitch quickly grabbed the ax and put it in his pack, letting the blade stand out. Then he ran into the brush with a slight grin.

--------------------
Mitch slowed down and knocked one of his arrows. He listened again for the sound but nothing. Had the animal gone that far? Mitch continued to walk into the thick mess if trees. Then he saw a clearing. There was another yelp and soft whimpering.
"
Mitch walked closer to the clearing, with each step making him more excited and scared. He finally reached the edge then held down his bow. In the center, there was a fluffy little animal pulling on the arrow, that was shot into its paw, with its teeth. Mitch relaxed a little.
The animal looked to be (wile standing up right) the same size as Mitch. Mitch then put up his arrow feeling sympathetic. He thought to himself, 'ouch that hast to hurt! Wait! I'm a hunter. I cant be worrying about wounded animals!' He found himself saying the last part out loud. He wasn't quick enough to cover his mouth. The animal quickly lifted its head and ears. Mitch stood there motionless for what seemed like an eternity. He could feel the creatures blue eyes looking right at him. He was spotted and his black and read checkered pull over diddn't help him hide one bit. Mitch continued to stand there staring into those blue eyes. Surprisingly, he felt more relaxed during that moment.

Mitch let out a sigh and the creature jumped and ran behind a tree towards the back of the clearing. Mitch was a little shocked as he walked slowly to the center of the clearing. Was it scared of him?

There was a Russel in the bushes. Mitch slowly knocked another arrow and waited. A golden apple and a few raw fish fell out of his pack as he grabbed for the arrow but the light was so dim, he diddnt notice. The creature made a loud sniffing sound then poked his head out of the Bush. He saw the food and its blue eyes went wide (even though It didn't know what kind off food it was) . It looked up at Mitch then back at the food before it made a run for it on all fours.

But Mitch was quicker.

He pulled back the arrow and pointed it right in-between its eyes. The creature suddenly skidded to a halt then stood up on its back legs and held out its paws as to ask for mercy. Mitch had a confused look on his faced as he watched the animal looking at him then by his foot. Mitch looked down and saw the food slowly putting up his arrow. He looked back at the creature as it sat down on the ground. It reminded Mitch of how the wolves his dad tamed sit. The arrow still stuck in its right paw. Its tail then started to sway back and forth. Mitch thought to himself, 'this thing has a tail? how did I miss that!' Mitch then quickly picked up the raw fish in one hand and the apple in the other.

The animal never took its eyes off the food as Mitch walked up to it. He held out the raw fish as the creature smelled it. The animal started a low growl. Mitch dropped the food on the ground and went go grab an arrow. As he felt around for his quiver, the apple rolled in-front of the growling animal. The creature went silent as it picked up the shiny treat. Mitch put his arm back down and curiously watched.

As the animal opened its mouth, Mitch watched its super small fangs extend out about an extra inch; then plunge into the apple demolishing over half of it. Mitch was astonished. He poked at his own teeth for a second before realizing the creature sat a little closer; just staring at him with those blue eyes. Mitch new what it wanted. He pulled his pack off his back, pulled out two more golden apples, set them on the ground, and backed up. The creature crawled over and took an apple in each paw. Mitch thought, 'I'm running out of food. Ill be eaten next if I don't get out of here!'

Mitch quickly turned to run but tripped over a large tree root. He panicked and struggled to his feet feeling those blue eyes watching him. His pack surprisingly felt lighter.
