Riing riing riingI turned around on my bed and turned off the alarm on my phone.
7:00 AM
I sighed and went to my bathroom to get ready for school. First day back to school, first day as a Junior. Sophomore year went by fast, and summer went by too fast
I took a quick shower and sang my favorite song, Sledgehammer by Fifth Harmony.
When I finished, I went back into my room and picked up my clothes that I laid out two weeks ago for this day. I shop for my school clothes early just out of the hobby of shopping. What I had laid out was a white crop top with black high waisted shorts. I grabbed my white white vans from my closet as well.
I went over to my makeup vanity and started putting on eyeliner, mascara, and dark red matte lipstick. Just the basics. I don't need foundation, as my mom told me, "This family always had clear, smooth skin. Macey your skin shines bright. You've got that from my side of the family."
Knock, knock.
"Macey," I heard my mom say from the other side of my door.
Speaking of mom, "come in," I sanged.
She has dark brown natural curly hair like me. Except her hair is cut into a bob style, mine stops at my mid back. We both also have the same dark brown eyes.
She leaned on the door frame. "Back to school huh?"
"Yay," I cheered sarcastically.
"I remember my days of highschool. Kind of miss it," she scoffed. "You're trying out for cheerleading, that should be fun. Are you excited?" She asked. I tried out for cheerleading last year and didn't make the squad, but over the summer I have been practicing and I even took tumbling classes.
"Nervous, but more excited," I answered.
"I'm wishing you a lot of luck, i'm sure you will do great," she assured me. "I have to get to work. I'll see you later."
"You said that last year and I still did horrible," I chuckled.
She smirked, "you will do great. Bye."
After about a minute, I hear her pull out of the drive way. I still had thirty minutes until I left for school. I walked down the hallway into the kitchen to make myself breakfast. I put on music and grabbed two slices of bread and placed them in the toaster.
My phone beeped notifying me that I have gotten a message. I checked who it was from and it was my best friend Sophia.
(Messages)
Sophia: Hey Macey. Ready for school?
Me: Hey girl, and no. It seems like summer just started, then flew by in a few days.
Sophia: Ikr, but after this year, only one more year of high school!
Me: A year. Sounds like a while from now.
Sophia: On the positive side, we have cheer tryouts!
Me: To be honest, that is what i'm nervous about. You saw me last year, i seriously sucked.
Sophia: lol, I remember, but you took tumbling classes this summer and we practiced hard, so you'll kick ass!
Me: I hope so. You have a reason not to be nervous, you made the team last year.
Sophia: I am a little nervous. I have to go, I'll see you at school.
Me: okay, bye.
