He frowned.  Something I said wasn't right and those chocolatey eyes told me exactly that. Then his entire face softened and he gave me this smile that just made me feel like I was straight up melting. It was contagious. I goofily smiled back because I literally could not help it.

"What are you talking about?" He chuckled. Wow.  So far everything this cute lumberjack boy has managed to do is making me feel like the inside of a jelly donut.  But that chuckle was beautiful. Am I over thinking all of this? Mmmmprobably.

Oh right respond idiot

"The crackers, right? The dry... Salty things?" I nervously replied.  I refused to look into those eyes of his. People always talk about how piercing blue eyes are, but they've never been stared down by a mocha eyed lumberjack.

Then he let out this laugh that made me smile so wide I probably looked insane somehow. It was a laugh that I think was obvious it came from deep inside of his chest and made my cheeks blossom into a soft pink. Just look at him. Genuinely having a cute lil laugh. Who am I to tell him to stop? I certainly won't.

"I think you're thinking saltines," he hummed. "Salutations is a greeting," he explained, still smiling at me. He also had red cheeks awarded to him by the cold wind. He didn't really have anything for warmth on besides that coat.

Saltines

Oh

I glanced to the side. "Y-yeah, sure, whatever," I mumbled, shifting the things around in my hoodie pocket. "Anyway, why are you here? At my house, I mean," the lumberjack shrugged. "I knew some kid from my grade lived here but I didn't know who. I know your name though, Tyler," I smiled at that. That's kind of cute. "What's yours? I asked, raising a brow as I got off the porch and we started walking together down the street.

"I'm Joshua, Joshua Dun."

"Nice to meet you, Josh," I smiled. Rolls off the tongue quite nicley. "Do you live around here? I mean, how far did you walk?"

He shrugged. "A few blocks, nothing huge." I nodded in understanding.

"I can take you back there if you want," he smiled. I lifted my head from staring at the pavement. I don't know this guy, and if he acts as much as a lumberjack as he looks, he'll probably murder me with an axe before I have the chance to scream.

"That's alright, I was just about to eat actually," which was a lie, but untill I knew this guy better I wasn't going anywhere near his house. He gave me this look of defeat before nodding. He pulled his phone out. "Can I have your number at least? I don't have many friends around here, it'd be cool if we could hang out sometime."

"Sure," I smiled and took his phone, typing my number in next to the name 'Tyguy :-)'

He gave a soft chuckle again reading the name before tucking his phone back in his pocket and is he blushing? Maybe it's just the autumn air making his cheeks rosy like that.

"See ya, Ty," he smiled and walked off my porch and into the street. I gave a small wave.
