Avi's fingers tightened on the handle of his case and he ducked his head as he sat on the bleachers in the gym.

The basketball team was in a meeting, something serious being spoken about, the pretty pretty boy. Scott, with the blue eyes.

Avi sat down and he listened intently, trying to pick up on what it was about. But he heard heavy footsteps and he winced as the gym doors slammed open, revealing the football team and their almost immediate insults toward Avi.

He stood and pushed his way through the jocks, tears already sliding down his face. The gym doors opened for him, and he sat on his usual spot. The bench beside the road.

Avi kicked at the loose pebbles on the ground. and when he heard cars passing, he looked up. It would be so easy to stand and run out into traffic.

"Hey," a sighing voice stopped him and he saw his guitar case and pills take a spot on the ground between him and the person.

Avi looked over and saw Scott. The pretty pretty blue-eyed boy.

"H-hey," Avi coughed lightly and he fidgeted.

Scott took a seat on the bench beside Avi and crossed one leg over the other. "I don't understand."

Avi furrowed his eyebrows in response. He watched as Scott's eyes turned into a grey. Like he was angry.

"Why those guys keep bothering you. It's totally ridiculous. Utter bullshit, if you ask me," Scott continued.

"People like you don't deserve to be treated that way."

Avi's face fell and he tilted his head as he stared at Scott. "I-I...People like-like me?"

A smile crossed Scott's face and he looked over at the small green-eyed boy.

"Beautiful people aren't meant to be treated that way. Shining people aren't meant to be treated that way. A star isn't meant to be treated that way."

And Avi almost fell off of the bench.

Because he wasn't a star.
