Chapter 1- just the usual.. I think

It was Saturday, just a normal day. I went to work at the cafe, like normal. I came home, like normal. And as always, loneliness greeted me. I have nobody. My parents moved up north of England a few years back leaving me alone, to cope life with out parents. We never speak, not after what happened. I've had enough of my life if I'm being honest. I eat dinner alone before going to bed. Solitary.

The next day (ugh, Sunday.) walking to work down at the cafe I thought to my self "why is it alway so noisy, so early?" I hated it. I continued walking until I reached the cafe, at last. Just what I needed, another day at the cafe surrounded by my friends, it doesn't sound that bad, except he was there too. There with his short, dirty blond hair, his broad shoulders and muscular arms, his deep blue eyes that made my heart skip a beat every time he looked at me. "He" was Liam. Or so we called him, he never told anyone if it was his proper name, maybe it was a sense of security or maybe it was paranoia. Nobody knows. He was beautiful in every way possible, and then you had me: the girl from outer town; the girl who was lonely; the girl who had few friends. The girl named Katie.

Still approaching the cafe, I noticed his car already parked up in the parking lot, it was a deep blue (like his eyes) ford mondeo. Five seater. I entered work everyday to the same "hello." It was my best friend; Mia. We were so different in every way, she wore heels and I stuck to boots. She was beautiful and I was, well, me. She was confident and I was too shy to talk to Liam everyday at work. We were only friends because we had been for so many years, I mean we have history together, such good memories. We were like sisters. After Mia's hello, Liam would walk around the corner from the office and smile at me. No words. Just the smile. The butterflys in my stomach have a party every time.

Interrupting, a very familiar voice shouted "Come on, guys. Get into gear, it's opening time. Katie get in uniform." It was Joe. Liam's best friend.

"I'm coming now, calm down Joey," I responded. The uniform was horrid. Knee high socks, short, short, white skater dress and roller blades to wait the tables. Oh, how fun.

I got dressed in the office as I heard I deep voice shouting "Katie," it was Liam. I zipped up my dress and shot out of the office.

There he was. Staring at me with a soft smile on his face. "Oh, hey" I said, trying to stay cool.

"Hey, um we're, well my band's doing a gig tonight at the local club and I was um wondering, well if you wanted to come?" He glared at me as if... No. He couldn't.

"Well,"

"Only if you want to, I mean if you're busy on like a date or something, I get it," he interrupted.

YES, YES, YES, YES my mind told me to scream at him. Of course I was playing "cool". "Of course, I'd love to come." I lifted half my mouth to resemble a half smile.

"Oh great, Mia and Joe are coming too, see you later." He smiled again and walked away.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED? The most perfect guy I know asked me out to watch his band? I think I melted a little inside.

The day seemed relaxed after that but also dragged out so long! But eventually it was closing time, I grabbed my bag. Said bye to Mia and Joe, and went to leave when yet again I heard his voice shouting my name "Katie wait," Liam ran over to me.

"Oh hello again," I said gently

"Let me give you a lift home." Liam demanded, it wasn't a question for sure.

"Oh urm thanks but I can walk, you'll have to set up or something for your gig won't you?"

"Nah that doesn't matter, c'mon." He spoke with such a gentle voice but yet so demanding that I wouldn't argue again.
