Chapter 15:
We've been looking for lawyers all day. Either there was one absolutely clueless, or one that was a fucking jerk.
We continue to look for lawyers for another hour. But, we eventually give up and go back home. When we walk in, we see Joseph, Emily, and Dylan, on our couch.
"Hey! Where have you guys been?" I ask.
"Jobs. You need a way to make those fat stacks!" Emily states.
We laugh.
"Gurl. I heard you're going to court. Did you kill someone again?" Dylan asks.
"Not this time. We were looking for lawyers all day." I say.
"All of them were sons of bitches." Sadie says.
I grab the envelope on the counter and show it to them. They take time to read each word carefully. I watch their eyes move back and forth. When one of them finish, they look at us.
"I hope you guys go to jail." Joseph says, smiling.
"Fuck face." I say.
I give Sadie a proud high five. Joseph gasps.
"You know I could be your lawyer." Joseph suggests.
"You want us to go to jail don't you?" Sadie asks.
"Yes, but not quite. I'm your only hope now." He says.
He does have a point. Might as well try.
"Fine." I say.
"Um.. are you sure this is a good idea babe?" Mitch asks.
"It's all we have." I say.
"I'm gonna go look up fancy words. Bye." Joseph says, walking out the door.
I have no idea how this is going to play out. Seriously, Joseph our lawyer? We're screwed. Like legit SCREWED.

It's time to go to court. I pick out the most sophisticated outfit I could find. Once everyone is ready, we hop into 3 different cars. Sarah, Preston, Mat, Hazel, and Jerome in Mat's car. Me, Sadie, and Mitch in Mitch's car. Finally, Dylan, Emily, and Joseph in Emily's car.
As Mitch drives, I start to get nervous. The closer we get, the more my hand starts to shake. What if it wasn't enough for the judge? What if we go to jail? I shake off the thought and look out my window.
I feel a light touch at my finger tips. I quickly turn my head. I sigh as I saw Mitch touch my hand.
"You seem tense." He says.
"Yeah. Tense is what you could say." I reply.
"Don't worry ok babe? Everything is going to be fine." He says.
I grab his hand. Our fingers wrap around each other. He continues to drive.
When we park, now is when I start getting shaky. I'm still holding onto Mitch's hand.
"Are you ready biggums?" I ask.
"Indubitably." Sadie replies.
We step out of the car. When we get out, me and Mitch link hands again. Before we walk in, I say something.
"I want to let you guys know, whatever happens in there.. I love you guys."
"I love you too." Sadie says.
Mitch gives me a kiss. Finally, we walk in.
We see the others walk behind us. Joseph holds a suitcase and wears a suit. His brown hair is styled to make him look more mature.
We walk further into the court. When we turn the corner, we see Liz and Tyler. I tense up more. Mitch squeezes my hand, a way of telling me that he's there.
We walk straight pass them. It's almost time to go.
"I'll be there ok babe?" He asks.
I nod. He kisses me on my forehead. I smile at his empathy. I grab Sadie's hand too.
"Here we go."
