Josh's POV
We were walking down the street hand in hand, my girlfriend and I. I had been dating her for about two months now, and I thought things were going great. We smiled, laughed and had fun together but recently, things were a bit rocky.. We reached my door and she stopped as I tried to bring her into my house. I turned, “What’s wrong?” I asked her, concerned as to why she wasn’t coming in. “I can’t, Josh,” she said, with apologetic eyes. I tightened my grip on her hand, “But why?” I moved closer to her, to kiss her but she stepped back. “I’m sorry Josh, but we’re over.” I let go of her hand and stared at her in disbelief. What had I done? Why is she leaving?
I watched as she walked down the path, “So that’s it?” I half shouted, half said, “You’re just gonna leave! No explanation?” She didn’t turn to look at me, she just wandered off down the road towards her house. My sadness started to build up and all the reasons why it didn’t work out started running through my head. I walked into my house and grabbed a beer before settling on the couch. My phone buzzed in my pocked and I pulled it out to see the text was from Jennifer, a small smile appeared on my face.
Jen: Hey Joshie, you busy with your girlfriend or do you wanna hang out?
Josh: Hey Jen, she broke up with me… I’d love some company.
Jen: Oh my god Josh, I’m so sorry. You can come round if you like?
Josh: I’m on my way. Thanks Jen, have alcohol at the ready.
I left her with that I put my phone back in my pocket. I quickly finished off my beer and headed out the door. I started walking towards my motorcycle but then remembered I’d just had a beer, so I started my journey to Jennifer’s on foot. I reached her door and knocked a few times, waiting for her to answer.
Jennifer's POV
I felt so bad for Josh, hearing that he broke up with his girlfriend, so of course I would invite him over and I was glad he asked me to dig out my alcohol. I placed some beer and even some vodka into the fridge and waited for his arrival. Ten minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. Walking over, I placed my phone onto the coffee table then opened the door. I held out my arms and he walked straight into them. He wrapped his arms around my waist, “I’m sorry about you and your girlfriend Josh,” I said softly, pulling back from the hug. “Go make yourself comfortable and I’ll bring you a beer, okay?” I smiled and him, and he gave me a nod and a small smile.
I closed the door and headed to the kitchen, I grabbed a bottle of beer and a bottle of vodka for me. I opened them both and headed to the living room, sitting beside Josh, I handed him his beer and took a sip of my vodka. “You wanna talk about it?” I asked him, and he shook his head, taking a big gulp. “Woah, easy there fella,” I laughed a little, and so did he. “C’mon Jen, just go for it,” I shook my head at him then shrugged. “Well… okay then,” I said tipping my head back as I guzzled atleast half of my vodka. I could handle beer and wine, but when it came to cider or vodka, I was such a lightweight.
"I shouldn’t really be drinking this much vod, Josh," I said, starting on my third bottle. He drank atleast four bottles of beer and decided to join me in drinking vodka, he was a little like me but his body could take a little more than I could before coming completely drunk. My mind was spinning so I pulled myself closer to Josh, "So, Josssssssh. Why on earth would that girl dump you? Like seriously, look at you," I giggled, unable to control my words. He shrugged, "There could be a lot of reasons. I’m boring, not funny, I’m short, I might not have been taking her to her favourite places, I’m probably a bad kisser-" I interrupted him, "Woah, woah, woah. Hang on. A bad kisser? Please, Josh, I bet you’re not a bad kisser."
He thought for a moment, I could tell his mind was spinning too. “I’m sure that’s probably what it is,” he said with a sigh. Then I had an idea, I moved even closer to him and ran my fingers up and down his thigh. “Well, what if… maybe… just maaybe… I teach you how to, yinno, kiss?” His eyes widened as I watched my fingers stroke his thigh. He cleared his throat and sat up properly, “Oh-okay.”
I followed his movements and sat up properly too, “Okay, put your hand here.” I directed his hand and made him cup my cheek, “Then you lean right and I’ll go left. Your left, obviously.. but my right.” He nodded and we leaned in, we started with just a peck. I noticed he kept his eyes open, “Josh,” I said softly, “Close your eyes when you kiss.” He didn’t say anything, he just gave me a gently nod. “Okay, let’s go a step further… no tongue though, Mr Hutcherson… yet,” I smirked and he looked a little nervous. We leaned in again and kissed, it was deep but not heated. Josh was an amazing kisser, maybe the fault came when he used his tongue. “That was amazing,” I whispered close to his lips, “Kiss me Josh, full on kiss.”
His eyes searched my face and we leaned in again, he took hold of my face in both hands and kissed me, deep and passionate. Our tongues forced against eachother and I grabbed his shoulders. A few moans were passed as we kissed, he pulled me closer and I’m sure we had been kissing for about three minutes. Eventually, we pulled back. We were both breathless, “I think bad kisser is off the list,” I said, giggling and he laughed too. He leaned towards me again and stopped at my lips, “Can we…?” He said, looking at my lips then back at me. I kissed him softly, “Yes,” I managed to get out before we were tangled in eachothers arms in yet another heated kiss.
