Kaine walks into the warehouse, Sapphiri, Jayla, Delia, and behind him.

Ben stands in front of them, with various clones behind him. Without a word, they all charge towards each other. Ben stands in the middle of the chaos, as does Kaine. Kaine is tense, while Ben looks extremely relaxed, as if unaware of the fight going on around him.

"You're dying, Kaine. You know you won't leave alive. The only real question is; will I?"

Kaine closes his eyes, slowly reopening them. The two blood brothers charge at each other, Kaine severely weakened by his cellular degeneration. Kaine fights from rage, while Ben keeps calm, dodging and occasionally attacking Kaine, aiming for the chest, the epicenter of his degeneration. He eventually picks up a knife, stabbing him in the stomach, which Kaine ignores.

For the beginning of the fight, Ben has the upper hand, attacking Kaine calmly and efficiently. Kaine begins to sprout spines all around his body. His mask begins to rip, his jaw lowering farther than the mask can stretch. He turns into a feral looking beast, with teeth and claws, short spines covering his body.

Blood sprays onto the wall of the warehouse, staining the walls red.

Everyone stops fighting, turning to the source of inhuman sounds, seeing Kaine standing over Ben's mutilated body, dark stains covering his suit. He begins to revert to a human, when a large wound becomes visible. All the clones have already been defeated. Kaine falls to his knees, dying. The other three run to his aid, knowing that this would have happened regardless of what happened today. He was to die that day from his degeneration.

Delia holds him upright, allowing him to breathe more easily.

"I... had this one coming..."

Kaine coughs blood, spraying some on his chest.

"It's been great... to work with... all of you."

Kaine struggles to keep speaking, fighting for these last few moments.

"And... of any of you can... tell Spider-Man... to tell Gwen... I said... that I would have died... long ago if not for her... and that I... I..."

Kaine's eyes close, as he takes his final breath, unable to finish his message.

1 Month Later

Jayla flies to the New York Parker Industries building. The team split up following Kaine's death. She knocks on Peter Parker's window. He opens the window, letting her in.

"Hello, did you need something?"

"Just to deliver a message. To Spider-Man. Or you. Same person, right?"

Peter sighs.

"Yes... what's the message?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you right when it happened, I'm a busy SHIELD agent. Kaine... he died. And, in his dying moments, he asked me to give you a message to deliver to someone named Gwen. He said that he's grateful for her help. He didn't get to finish, but I have a feeling we both know what he was going to say."

"Yes, we do. I'll make sure I deliver the message to her."

After a few minutes of friendly conversation, Jayla flies out the window, back to the Helicarrier, ready to accept her new task.

She arrives at the briefing room, ready to receive her mission.

"Hello, Jayla. You're here for your next task, correct?"

"Yes, sir," she replies.

"There is a woman going by the name of Ero. We need you to bring her in. You'll need help; she isn't human."

"Don't worry, sir. I know who to call."

Jayla leaves the briefing room, a grin plastered on her face.
